Blown away by my meal

Ate here on recommendation from friends. It is a local family owned restaurant. They have a as great bar and cozy dining area. I was told they have great pizza, pasta and burgers. However, I tried the gambo de maialle (roasted pork shank) was blown away. The pork was tender and tasty and the mushrooms/potatoes paired very well with it. However, the Marsala Demi was unbelievable and it was a flavor I’ve never had before. Staff was very friendly and they have great specials each night of the week. I highly recommend this place and hope to be back in the future when visiting again.

Best Burgers!

I couldn't wait to have a good burger. And IPK exceeded my expectations. Great presentation, cooked to my order, and fries that are better than I could imagine. And the bar server was friendly and checked back with us often for additional needs or wants. YIPPIE.

Another wonderful Italian place in the western suburbs

I should have written this three weeks ago, but I'm sure nothing has gone downhill since we ate there. To start, while the parking lot was overflowing when we arrived, and I had to park around the corner and across the tracks, the hostess seated us immediately in a cozy booth for four. Our server was enthusiastic and on the spot, especially with the all-important beverage refills. The wine list is very decent and they have all your favorite micro-brews on tap. The food was exceptional, and whoever rated this restaurant at one star should be taken with a truckload of salt. It could not possibly have been that bad. I was especially smitten with the grilled calamari. It consisted of the biggest squid pieces I've ever seen, all a perfect blend of rubbery tenderness and smoky char. Yum. When we return, we'll try the pizza.

Not The Best

Pizza was OK but they were a little short on the meat. I also had their beef and sausage sandwich and the sausage was undercooked. It looked like they boil the sausage in water instead of grilling it. I also should have gotten the red sauce on the side instead of having it dumped on the sandwich which made the bread extremely soggy and hard to eat. Another problem I had with this place was the extra 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card. Just for that I will never go back to this place.

Not what I expected

Wanted to try this spot for a while. Italian Pizza Kitchen sounds wonderful, right? Well, definitely not what I expected. The atmosphere was more like that of an Irish pub. Their beer menu was quite extensive so, maybe they are a pub wannabee. Had pizza, it was ok. Again, not what I expected. The crust was dry, not Neapolitan, dry, just thin, crispy dry. Sauce was good and the toppings were plentiful. Our server took a while to warm up to friendly. Parking was great, location was good, sitting on a prominent corner, easy to find. Paying a service charge to use a credit card was a bit much. Glad I went. It was ok, just not a 'Gotta go back' place for me.

Pizza’s great, lasagna is not, unsafe pickup.

Their pizza is great! Crispy and yummy. The lasagna? Not so much, see the pic. It tastes ok but not worth $14. The lack of stars is for their lack of safety precautions at pick up. 20 people crammed in a small room and inside diner’s walking out through the same room with no masks on. I’ll stick with the pizza and delivery next time.

Terrible service and management.

Their food is overpriced and the service in the restaurant was not very good. We have ordered pizza and had to wait a very long time. The is very little parking for this establishment. I overheard a manager speaking rudely to an employee...also, the employees do not seem happy to work their. This is not our first visit, but it will be our last. I refuse to frequent a restaurant where management thinks it is okay to disrespect their employees.

Delicous and Pleasant Experience

This was a great place I really liked! Hadn't been there before so this was a first visit for me. Making a decision as to what I would select from the menu was tough. I had come in craving a pizza but saw several entrees on neighboring tables that all looked wonderful. My craving won out, though and we each ordered a pizza and salad and they did not disappoint! The salad was wonderfully fresh and delicious. The pizza, too, was delicious and I loved that you could choose your ingredients from a nicely varied list. I took most of it and 1/2 of the salad home with me since the salad was huge! Made a great leftover! The restaurant itself was very attractive, comfortable, clean, and lively but not too loud. Service was impeccable and very friendly. I hadn't seen the friend I was meeting in some time and we had much catching up to do. They were attentive without being pushy and gave us the time we needed. I recommend Italian Pizza Kitchen and will return!

OK+, OK & OK ...an okey dokey place

Service: It was average to very good. Let me explain. I'm guessing our server was fairly new as he had no idea about the beers or wines on the menu. He needs to make an effort to learn the selections even if not one who drinks. One the positive side, he was friendly and attentive. During our meal we spilled a glass of wine and the staff was great. They cleaned it up immediately, put out a wet floor sign and even brought a gratis replacement. The manager and hostess were supremely engaged. They were flying around the place doing whatever hey could to keep things running smoothly. Food: This was our first time at IPK and we decided to try the deep dish pizza. We had a sausage and green pepper. The sauce and sausage very good, the crust was more akin to a stiff bread. It wasn't tasteless but to us the consistency was off and the taste was somewhat akin to matzo bread. We are deep dish devotees but will return to try the thin crust at some point. Maybe their crust will work better on their thin crust. Value: About average. We ordered the smaller deep deep dish and four drinks. Less tip the food drinks and taxes totaled about $58. Ambiance: It's definitely popular. The place was packed, pretty loud and clean. There are three TV's in the dining area and more in the bar. College football was on but none of the local teams were on. It would be wise to put on local teams even if most of them can't play their way out of a paper bag.

Great thin pizza

Had heard from friends that this place had good pizza and they were right. Easy parking, friendly staff and good pizza. Many pizza options to choose from or make your own combination. The chopped salad was big enough for a side salad for 4. Many other options besides pizza. Will definitely good back to try them.
