I love this place because they offer choices that you can't find anywhere else. My favorite is the crab, avocado, and mango stack. What a great combination. Rustic atmosphere that may not be for everyone.

This was a very enjoyable place for dinner. The interior is decorated north-woodsy with canoes hanging from the ceiling, a big stone fireplace, and chairs made of wood with the bark still on. We enjoyed a seared tuna ginger dressing salad and scrumptious turkey burger with wilted spinach, sautéed apples and blue cheese. The food was deliciously prepared and wait... More

The decor was really nice and inviting but the food was the real star. It was fresh, cooked perfectly and delicious. We had duck meatball sliders, fish tacos, grilled mahi mahi and an Asian salad. We will definitely go back since it's only about 30 minutes from our house.

We went to Thunder Bay Grille for the first time tonight. We had heard about it from friends at Candlewick Lake in Poplar Grove who go there often. So we went there to try a meal. The restaurant is easily accessible and has ample parking. The dining room is very large and attractive. It was a nice, clean place to... More

My wife and I were on a return road trip from Calgary, Alberta to Markham, Ontario and on this particular day we did over 1200 km and construction experiences added unwanted time to our day. We arrived in Rockord after 9pm and finally found the Super 8 where we had a reservation after driving around for more than a half... More

I enjoyed my meal, very tasty. My husband said his was mediocre, but everyone had their own taste. My only concern was that there was NO CROWD on a Friday night. Convenient for us, but just concerned why no one was there at a time when they should have been busy!

Looked like it was the place to go and recommended by front desk. Was given a coupon. Associate and I went there. We were amazed how few patrons there were for a Wednesday night. Drinks and food were average. I had the Jambalaya, which would be excellent if it were not so dry.

The restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. Drink service is quick. I started my meal with a very nicely done martini. The wine list is a manageable one page, with a good variety and accurate, descriptive tasting notes. They allowed me to taste, as well, which is always a nice touch. I started my meal with duck sliders. The first wine... More

I liked the rustic look of Thunder Bay Grill. And with that name, I ordered the BQ red snapper & was disappointed. It was over cooked and had a rubber texture. The grilled veggies were only so so. I wouldn't go back. Too many other places to eat in the area.

I have tried this place two other times and been disappointed. Went on Friday evening when we could not get in anywhere else. This place was half empty. The reason was appetizers were smothered in sauces that had no flavor. Main entrees of salmon, shrimp were way over done and dry. Roasted potatoes were hard as rocks and cool in... More
