We live in Wisconsin and hadn't been to Cliffbreakers in 15 years. We wanted to take my mom & dad out for brunch and thought the view would be nice. The view was the only good thing. Selection was minimal at best. Ham and turkey at the carving station, no beef what so ever. Fruit bowl seemed old and none... More

Will never go here again. Waited in line 20 minutes with a reservation then waited 20 minutes for a waitress who never came. Went up to the bar to order instead. There was very little choices of food and it was barely warm. Then when we wanted to pay for our meals we had to wait another 25 minutes because... More

Hardly any variety, the smallest salad bar I have ever seen. Food was way over cooked. The price was outrages ... could have gone to the Abbey and had a wonderful, brunch for $1.50 more. Service sucked....had to go to the bar to finally pay for the meal as the waitress who was a sourpuss to begin with came to... More

I have not been to Cliffbreakers in years. While driving by the other day I noticed on the sign that they were advertising a new Pub Menu. My husband I and I were looking for a new place to eat and thought we'd try it out. We should have known, when there were only a half dozen cars in the... More

I have not eaten at Cliffbreakers in years. I know they are under new management and we decided to try them out for Friday fish fry. I'm glad we did. The restaurant was cozy. No television to distract from family conversation. The view onto the river is always beautiful. Our waitress (sorry, I forgot her name) was prompt and courteous.... More

My wife and I had dinner at Cliffbreakers and had great food, drink and service. Recommend getting a table that overlooks the river.

We live in Rockford and had friends from New York book this hotel as it was near our house. I was a bit skeptical as I had heard some comments from the locals. I personally visited before their visit and knew they would be pleased here. I was not wrong. They were very happy with the room facing the river,... More

During a very large dinner event two of the guests had their purse and a cell phone stolen. After an announcement was made when they noticed they had been robbed all 100 guests stopped dinning, drinking and dancing and joined in a all out extensive search. The purse was recovered but already emptied out in the side kitchen garbage can wrapped... Staying in the wonderful Cliffbreakers hotel gave us an excuse to try some of the food. Not only is it fresh and well-prepared, it was a bargain. The hotel is a blend of old and new, with spacious rooms and a nice pool. Love some of the "antiques" from old Chicago buildings that have been lovingly transported west to this... More

The food was good, and atmosphere was very nice. It was decorated for the holiday, so it was very festive!
