Hands down the best restaurant in Peoria. A creative and fresh menu, top notch atmosphere, and friendly staff. The patio in summer is excellent with a park like feel and great live music.

Over the past 2-5 years, I have been a fairly steady patron at all three of Cyd's various past locations, including the most recent location in Donavan Park (Cyd's in the Park), As far as food, it is usually very good. A bit overpriced, but...good with lots of variety that can accommodate many different eating styles. All of the locations have had an atmosphere that is trendy and casual. Especially the new location in the park. It is unique, and has an outdoor venue that is hard to compare. The area where Cyd's lacks and could greatly improve upon is in the skill of customer service. And I don't just mean slow service, or inexperienced wait staff. The whole culture is one of unprofessionalism, and the customer is here for Cyd's. Not Cyd's is here for the customer. I have attempted to dine at Cyd's seven times (pretty loyal) the past month only able to get in two of those times. And its not just because they are busy. Their reservation system is ineffective to say the least, and it is not simply a matter of "figuring it out." When making a reservation via a person or a voice message, you as a customer are entitled to know when you get off the phone whether or not you have a reservation, or you need to go somewhere else. That has not happened the last three times I have attempted to make reservations at Cyd's. No confirmation text, no phone call, even got a recording that said to "come in" as they were "taking walk ups." When I arrived five minutes later, they were not. Hostess was rude. Several other staff tried to accommodate myself and my guest (that's 2 people) and make this a win win situation, but the owner/manager vetoed the idea. During this whole time there were two maybe three open tables, one of which never got sat. We left, and sad to say, do not plan on returning. When this was brought to the owner/manager's attention, it was our fault for not figuring out the system, and how dare we be upset. Such lack of professionalism trickles down to your staff and sets the standard for how they will treat your guests. It is obvious from my recent and past experiences that management/ownership at Cyd's needs a total reboot on how they understand and demonstrate professional customer service.More

They say 2020 is the year from hell. Let me tell you about my year from hell at Cyd’s in the Park. 1. Soon after the shut-down lifted and outside dining at Cyd’s reopened for 2020, we went for dinner. When we sat down, we...saw a notice on the table that, because of the pandemic a 20% gratuity would be added to the bill, the table would receive 1 bill – no separate checks, and that a time limit would be put on the table. I didn’t particularly like the first two rules. For example, if the 20% tip is automatic, it removes customer choice, and might decrease some servers’ motivation to provide excellent service in hopes of getting a better tip. And no separate checks takes the task of dividing the bill from the server, where it usually is, and puts it on the customer. So, in a way, the server is getting 20% gratuity for NOT dividing the checks. But I felt we all needed to make allowances for the pandemic, so I decided to return to Cyds, or at least I tried to. 2. On a Friday evening at about 8:30, I thought I’d go to Cyd’s for a drink after dinner. I checked Google Maps and saw that they were opened until 10. My friend and I arrived at Cyd’s at about 8:45, and as we were walking up, the hostess said: We are no longer seating; We close at 9. I replied that we only wanted drinks. The hostess, curtly repeated, We are no longer seating. -- As we walked away, I thought, the place was nearly full. Most of the people eating would be there well past 9. We only wanted drinks. We probably would have left before some of the other customers who were already seated. Oh well. They lost a sale they could have easily had. 3. A few weeks later, on a weekday afternoon, a friend and I decided to go to Cyd’s for dinner and drinks that evening. In the afternoon, I called for reservations. An automated system answered. After listening for a while, I was told to push 1 (I think) for the reservations, and I got a recorded message again. I thought: this is sort of annoying, like calling a doctor’s office. 😉 The recorded message instructed me to leave my name, the date and time I would like reservations, and the number in my party. Someone would text me to confirm or if I preferred, I could leave my email and someone would email me back. I recorded my information and then hung up not knowing if we would or would not have reservations for that evening. I waited and waited, and then, at about 5:30, my friend called Cyd’s. Again, no one picked up the phone. She got the same automated answering/reservation system, and left the information requested. We waited until about 7:30 and still never heard back from Cyd’s. We decided to go somewhere else for dinner. 4. Sometime later, on a weekend evening, we decided to give Cyd’s another chance since I liked their outside dining venue. I called, and this time the outgoing message on the automated reservations system said that they were no longer taking reservations for this evening, but walk-ins were welcome. So, a friend and I drove right over. When we arrived, the hostess told us that, they were full for the night. We explained that we just, a few minutes ago, when we called Cyd’s, were told that they were taking walk-ins and instructed to come over. The hostess, just repeated, with no apparent empathy or concern for customer service, that there no more tables were available for this evening. Based on these experiences, I was beginning to think that Cyd’s is more concerned with Cyd’s than with providing Cyd’s patrons good customer service.More

I would suggest updating your hours on Google. Showed up at 8:15 for dinner and was told the kitchen closed at 8. Told the host that the hours listed on Google said that they were open until 9, she didn't care and refused to seat...us.More

As others have posted, the is a unique setting for a long term local catering company original in Peoria Heights. We had a team lunch at a unique large table which worked great. It was very full and extremely loud. It was difficult to hear...others not right next to you. But that is probably the cost of the unique open space and little to absorb the sound. Food was excellent. I had the salmon sandwich which was as good as I've had. Others were pleased with their meals. Service was extremely slow. We got there around 11:45 and left at 1:30. It's also a bit pricey but probably worth it for the quality. Bill with sandwich, tea, and dessert was $30. But ... I'd come back for sure as the service may have been due to lunch time rush and the food is very good. Hopefully some of the glitches can be worked out. And the outdoor seating looks great.More

Nestled in the trees of Donovan park, where the green grass contrasts against the bright blue Illinois sky, lies a true gem for Peoria,Cyd’s In the Park. Elegant country décor, playful and inviting colors combined with an attention to detail are noticed immediately felt when...walking in the doors. From tables of locals, to visitors new to the area, a sense of community and home envelops you as soon as you enter. It is apparent that each sentiment is carefully thought out and crafted with love. The star emblems on the bar act as an homage to the twinkling night sky, live plants adorn the tables adding pops of nature to the ambience and the outdoor patio area is enhanced with hand cut wooden details. There are even charming family photos in the restrooms, every detail creating a dining experience is created that cannot be missed. What is a dining experience without a remarkable and playful menu? The items are simple, yet nostalgic, and taste like something you would eat at your grandmother’s house. From the perfectly prepared Citrus Salmon Salad with hints of ruby red grapefruit and creamy avocado-to the delectable made from scratch tomato basil soup, I could have stayed for days touring the menu items. The Take Away Market is truly impressive, and reminiscent of something that would be found along the cobblestone streets of Europe. The choices there are endless, and could satisfy even the pickiest eater. Again, the attention to detail is not unnoticed. The meatloaf ‘cupcakes’ are ‘frosted’ with a sweet potato puree are just as aesthetically pleasing as they are delicious. The goat cheese and red and yellow beet salad with arugula was dressed perfectly and allowed each flavor to come together. Timeless is what best describes Cyd’s in the Park, as this restaurant will certainly continue to be a neighborhood favorite for generations to come. I am eagerly awaiting my next visit to Peoria and another culinary adventure at Cyd’s.More

The Cyd's we went to was in Donovan Park @ 5805 N Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61614, where the "old" giolf course club house was, o plenty of parking right outside. Even though a moderate temp. day the Sunday before Christmas, we sat inside surrounded...by floor to ceiling windows with nice views out to the park. We were a little confused since their website indicates they are closed on Sunday, but last Sunday they were open and the other couple we met there had made a reservation for brunch. We ordered off their special Christmas menu: - I had the Christmas poached eggs on Wheat toast, with an avocado spread, pomegranate & goat cheese, it looked Christmasy and tasted great ( picture attached); - my wife had their special ginger bread waffles with cranberry compote ( picture attached) - that she liked and even took some home. The service was very good also and we spent a nice morning visiting, earting, and drinking with another couple we had not seen for about 18 years.More

The service and food were really great! Some unique foods - appetizers, entrees and desserts. The ambiance was nice - with a fireplace and all. Outdoor seating is also available and is enjoyable during the warm weather.

Went here last week and it really blew us away. We had a group of 10 and ate outdoors and listened to the band and just chilled out. They have fires going in little fire pits. The atmosphere is very creative. After eating we walked...down to the Observatory and looked thru the telescope at Saturn. It was pretty cool! The food was good. I had a burger since it was burger night. Onion rings were very tasty also. We all had a blast.More

My wife and I ate at Cyd’s yesterday evening for the first time. When we arrived at 6:15 no one was at the reception counter. Waited :10 minutes and customers started piling up at the door. Finally a hostess showed up and asked if we...wanted to wait :30 for outside seating or be seated right away inside. We chose inside because we had other stops to make in town before we went home. Took another :10 minutes to seat us. We waited :20 for any wait staff to acknowledge we were there. Finally brought us a picture of water. Another :20 minutes and the waitress finally asked us what we wanted to drink and we ordered our whole meal with our drinks. Remember we arrived at 6:15?... got our salad at about 7:30 At around 8, our waitress asked if there is anything else we would like..... we said yes,.....our meal. She said “sorry the kitchen has been backed up all night”. ......we could tell food was very slow coming out. I feel sorry for the wait staff here. Food was very good.... some of the best we have had, but Management here needs to step it up or they will lose the business. As of now, we have no desire to go back. You decide..... if you have all night and like to watch 20 wait staff run around in circles and get very little accomplished.... you will like the food once you finally get it.More
