Delicious authentic Mexican food

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. Great food, perfect customer service and friendly always smiling employees. They have good steak tacos and burritos, the guacamole is good as well.

My local go to restaurant for Mexican. Tacos and enchiladas are my favorite, as well as tamales. But I've never gotten a bad meal here. The food is authentic and delicious. Good value as well.

Everyone told me they loved Tacos El Norte, I didnot know it was a chain. I thought it was OK Nice variety of Mexican food for lunch and at a good price. I didnot care for the chorizo next time I would try beef or chicken. The appetizers have a quesadilla for $3.00 but you can get a plate of 2 quesadillas for $8.00. HUM...So I got 2 separate order of quesadillas for $6.00.

Great Authentic Mexican Food

I loved the food. It came out fast and the service was great. I definitely will come back. can’t wait to try the menudo on the weekends. i’ve only heard good things about it! Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Horribly run place

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is our first time ordering form this place. We will NEVER go back, nor should you. I know it's a global pandemic, but you'd think a Mexican restaurant could handle a Cinco de Mayo dinner rush, and would have planned accordingly by having more cooks be there. We ordered online, paid online, and my wife went to pick up our food at the time it said the food would be ready. She's been waiting there for 2 hours with still no food!! This place is a total disaster. There are about 50 customers, all angry, INSIDE the restaurant standing and waiting for their food. Some don't even have masks on and everyone is crowded closer than 6 ft., and this place is doing nothing about that either. And a few people have even started to go behind the counter! It's unreal. And to make it worse, the guy making the food doesn't even have a mask on. We tried to cancel our order and get a refund, but they won't, or can't do it. So, after 2 hours of waiting for food, she left, out $50. Other people waiting said they had been waiting 3 hours for their food. What she found out was that, even though they have an online ordering system, they weren't actually even using their online ordering system to actually fill the orders (just to take peoples money), even though online pre-paid orders kept coming in. Instead, in order to get the food they already paid for, people had to rudely shove their way to the front counter, hold up their phones to show on their screens what they had ordered, and only then did the employees make their food orders. It was a unorganized, chaotic, train wreck of a way for a restaurant to do business. What is the point of having an online ordering system set up for the restaurant to take online orders, if they are only going to use it to take peoples' money, but not actually use it to FILL the orders?!?!?! They should be embarrassed by how they run this place. Save yourself the trouble, and support a local business owned/run by people who actually know how to run a restaurant business and care about their customers. This place is DEFINITELY not it and deserves to be closed.

Swing and a miss

Got a tostada and a chimichanga. Two simple items. The chorizo tostada was very good. The chimichanga unfortunately, was a total disaster. It was completely smothered in a ketchup tasting kind of red sauce, that ruined the whole thing. A chimichanga should be crispy fried, but this was so covered in red sauce, it was already a soggy mess by the time I took a first bite. It tasted as gross as it looked, and without even considering a second bite, I threw the entire chimichanga away. Just gross. Idk how an item like that made it through the kitchen unless no one gave a damn.

Every time I go to Chicago I make a stop at Tacos del Norte they have very good food good customer service and prices are good!

Best tortas ever

Want to eat a good Mexican sandwich Tacos del Norte is the place to go every time my family and I go back to Chicago we make a stop there to eat! I will recommend to go and enjoy some Mexican food

Great takeout

I always get take out here. The burrito grande is a steal for $9. Also love the tacos al pastor here- very tasty. Nice sauces that come with it- the green is my favorite. Never ate in here. Very quick friendly service.

The food at this location is inconsistent, the interior environment is dirty, and the waitstaff is not friendly based on my experience. The other location in the area is much better - go there instead.

Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich is better

I stopped here for lunch today. The owner of this restaurant and the owner of Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich are brothers. I ordered flank steak w/enchilada. Although the food here is good, Tacos El Norte in Lake Zurich has better food, better service, friendlier employees, is much busier, and is cleaner. This restaurant is definitely worth stopping at but it was not quite as good as I was expecting.

Steak Torta Delicious but unfortunately I have to put in at least 50 words for the review to go through. Service is average at best but all the food is made fresh and the tres leches cakes are delicious too. Better as a take out place than eat in
