Went here on my recent birthday. They totally messed up my dinner. I ordered lobster/crab legs/steak After waiting for 30 min. The steak comes I start eating because I am starving and the waiter comes over to check on dinner and I just thought the...seafood portion was on its way. I asked about it and he gave me a deer in the head light look and replied that he forgot to write it down. By this time we were almost done with dinner. So I didn’t want to wait I had other activities to do because of my birthday. He did ask if I wanted the seafood. I responded no thank you. They did give a dessert to take come. Lesson learned even high quality restaurants mess up on special days. Bummer Always have waiter repeat order.More

Maestro is very unique restaurant with beautiful interior decor. Food is truly delish Russian. Service is good and friendly. Best borsh (soup) and pozarski cutlets. Restaurant is locating on 2nd floor, so I do not think they have elevator. Usually at dinner time they have...live music, dances. I always enjoy this place and I hope you will too.More

Went for lunch after reading/hearing of reno. and popularity. We were underwhelmed by decor, service and food preparation. Steak sandwich was nicely seasoned but over cooked. Large entree salad had nice ingredients but no seasoning. Two servers (no buss staff) for 10 tables were struggling...a bit -- a large group in private room was apparently being serviced by same two -- and causal manager/owner (?). Decent prices however.More

Recently my husband and I held a party to mark a milestone birthday. We had local family and friends, and family in from out of town, so we wanted everything to be perfect for our special occasion. We had already held and attended birthday parties...at Maestro, so we knew it was a good choice. Everything was arranged with literally a couple of phone calls. We shared the space with another group, but that was not a problem. A DJ and singer provided entertainment and European and American dance hits. We brought in our own wine and vodka, which the wait staff handled. The entire dinner, four removes, was served seamlessly. The food was excellent. Ingredients were fresh and well prepared. Standout dishes included liver pate, grilled salmon, and chicken tabaka. Our guests remarked on how delicious the food was. A good time was had by all, so we were very pleased. We would definitely consider the Maestro for another similar occasion.More

I was in town for my birthday. My children were with me, so that had to join us for dinner! The food here is amazing, and I highly recommend. My children are used to dining in excellent restaurants, but I still appreciate anytime the restaurant...staff is accommodating to them, and they were. Everything was fantastic, from the oysters to dessert. I would certainly return on a future visit to the Windy City!More

Ordered catering for a child birthday event including items for adults and kids. Adults food was ok. Kids food was terrible. Beef sliders were probably previously frozen, had no taste, did not have any tomatoes or lettuce, just beef and bread. Bread was not fresh...either. Hot dogs were the cheapest you could find and buns as well, again no side dish or vegetables. Mostly all kids just took a bite and did not want to eat, so had to through the food into the garbage. The owner charged $20 per child. Don’t waste your money order from Portillo’s!More

Try their Lobster Mash Potatoes the best ever with large chunks of Lobster. I had their 6 ounce beef filet it was so tender and juicy. Everything was amazing and the service was the best. Really expensive

The group went here for lunch based on a recommendation and we were pleased with the food and ambiance. It's not easy to find because the restaurant is on the second floor in an industrial park. You must go up about twenty steps with no...elevator in sight. All the entrees we had were delicious though moderate in size. The dinner menu looks interesting and we will return at a later date to check it out. The server, though competent, seemed a bit brusque and unfriendly. An occasional smile would have been nice.More

I have only visited for lunch but dinner is in the plans. The restaurant is in the second floor and accessible by stairs only. The lunch specials are a tremendous value at $8.00 Soup, drink and a choice of many options. I've had chicken Caesar...salad, veggie panini, and steak salad - all have been great. Everything is home made and don't miss out on the soup options because they are always awesome. This is coming from a person that is not a big soup fan. Everyone I have brought has become a loyal customer. The popularity of this place has grow in a short time. Support the great local family restaurants.More

This is a very fun and lively place! The food is wonderful, creative, and prepared consistently well. I have been eating here for so many years I can't remember how long it has been! While many customers are Russian or Eastern Europeon, I am not....The quality of the fish is fabulous, I haven't ordered off the menu in years, but Everything members of my party, have ever ordered has been superb! I have gone for lunch and eaten off of the Russian menu and it was delicious and a fun experience. I really liked the Borsht soup, probably didn't spell that correctly! This restaurant has been a gem since it opened, and you really need to eat here! Call before you go! This is really a great restaurant in Northbrook , the owners are both fabulous chefs and have created the menus that their Chef prepares and can customize to your preferences. The staff is great! And yes, since we have been coming here, every ten days, for years, we are like family! Get in here!More
