My friends and I love the food at this pub. It is a quaint but small pub in Upshire. The food is nothing fancy but great home cooking with huge portions and really tasty. They accommodate any changes and always give service with a smile. I literally can never move when I come out. I will continue to visit as... More

Staff are always really friendly and attentive. Good quality pub food and really big portions including small, medium and large Sunday roasts! Everyone I bring here loves it.

We arrived early on a Friday evening and were greeted by some friendly locals who made a real fuss of my 2 sons asking what football teams they supported and it was an effort to prise them away as we went to our table at 18.30 as requested. We had a table in the window as there were 6 of us... A fantastic place to stop if you're round the top of the M25. A huge menu and really delicious pub food. Clean plates all round from the kids! Good beer and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

The food was very good as was the service. We had a lovely night out. Sadly, the whole experience was spoilt a couple of days later when we found that someone had fraudulently tried to use our credit card. Considering the last place we had used the card was to pay for the meal we were a bit upset. This... More

One of a dying breed of local pubs close to me that still serves good, honest and delicious food that hasn't surrendered to the gastropub/Masterchef trend. Very good value and unpretentious. Service is excellent and friendly. It does get busy as you would expect so booking ahead of time is necessary especially for Sunday lunch, which is served until 17:00.... More

I've lived in the area for 40 years and had my first visit to the horseshoes for dinner with family. What a great menu, food was fantastic (especially the prawns), and I can't find fault with the food at all. Staff were great, location is good with a car park directly opposite. This is not a fancy restaurant, it's a... More

Four of us went to the pub last night for a great meal. Food is excellent value, nicely presented, large portions, tastes delicious. The chicken liver pate was beautiful we shared that as a starter. Two of us had the lamb shank which was superb, one had the pie and said it was delicious the other had the lamb cutlets.... More
