Good food and great value, which is rare to find these days. The service is fast and friendly and it's a large space so no waiting. Especially love the combo platters.

My friend ordered in from Las Palmas for our lunch at her house. Her husband was kind enough to pick it up for us. We both had chicken enchiladas, hers was with salsa verde and mine was with mole sauce. We both enjoyed our lunch...very much. Honestly, I thought the rice and black beans were good but not great. The salsa verde, though, was very tasty and just slightly picante. The mole, which is a particular favorite of mine, was delicious and rich, just as it should be. But the stand out feature was the chicken. This was the best chicken I have ever had in an enchilada ANYWHERE. The website claims that they marinate their chicken, and I'm inclined to believe it, because it was moist and flavorful, and present in a healthy quantity. If you've ever had a chicken enchilada that was filled with dry, spiky, uninspired little pieces, you'll know what I'm talking about. Las Palmas has them beat cold. I look forward to eating Las Palmas' food again, and maybe someday even dining in. I would like to try some of their other dishes, and I hope they are as good as the chicken.More

Have gone to Las Palmas many times, recently have gone out of our way to go there to give them business because of Covid. The waiter not sure of his name, but I became ill while there didn't even finish my drink stayed in rest...room to feel better then left. My friend says waiter was outside looking at my car and making a call. According to timeline on my phone, 6 minutes until Mundelein police pulled me over. Because there was alcohol on my breath even though I hadn't had the whole drink, they arrested me took me to jail for 2 days DUI. Coincidently the lawyer I hired and told what happened to me later found he was representing waiter on other charges and waiter was going to testify against me to get some of his charges lowered. Conflict of intetest? Fired him and have a new one. I wasn't even drunk. Way more to story, but police are suing me because there were 5 grabbing me and I resisted. By the way I am an 80 year old white woman. 5'2" 120 pounds and the one Brian Kisselberg, 6 ft., 180 came crying to my cell to say kicked him. Bottom line the reason I was so weird was because I did not know I had a UTI and delirium. They sprained my left wrist, dislocated my right shoulder and left bruises all over my right arm and face. 2 days in jail until I could get to ER. They have ruined my life. 80 and could go to jail for felony and I was sick. They should have hsd me checked by paramedics, but did not.More

Bad experience. Never again. Manager was disrespectful, not helpful and,to top it off, there was hair in our food. Please avoid, not only because it’s a health concern but also the rude personnel.

Taste is off the hook! Ordered some takeout here from GrubHub to pickup and food was ready on time and excellent. Huge portions of meat and cheese in the tacos and quesadillas. Great bang for your buck.

I don’t know why there are bad reviews. The waiter Leo was wonderful, the food was authentic and tasty, and the price is just fine. I would go again in a heartbeat!

The service is pretty good, the food is good, but everything is highly priced. My wife ordered a shrimp fajita; it was pretty good but it cost 20 dollars! A fajita dish for one person for $20??? We are not coming back, of course!

Not our first choice but not too many places open on Easter Sunday. The place is large and family oriented with a life-size steel bull in the lobby for kids to climb and a mariachi band — they asked if we wanted to be serenaded...and we declined; they were graceful about leaving us alone and not pestering. The food is standard Mexican fare, not bad but not impressive. Service was average.More

This place looks fun with the glowing giant palm trees out front and the life sized bull inside. We went there around 6:30 pm on a Friday night and got in without a wait, there were plenty of empty tables but they sat us right...by a very loud, raucous, large party. Even though they weren't busy and our waiter only appeared to have one other table, the service was not impressive. The water and chips (delegated to a bus boy or assistant server) didn't arrive until after the bar order arrived. Two people at our table ordered water with a lemon, the assistant brought the waters, chips and salsa, and even though the lemons were on his tray, he walked away with them. He did return shortly, but did not provide straws. We ordered guacamole for the chips, and the waiter brought the two avocado halves of one avocado with the onions, cilantro, peppers and citrus to make it table side; he never mentioned the current 'market price' of $17.90 (local grocery stores were selling avocados 10 for $7, so it's not like they were having some kind of shortage.) I ordered a taco salad with salsa for dressing, which was not brought out with my salad. Someone else at out table requested more chips and salsa, so I figured I could just use that but the waiter was slow in getting it and when he finally had it in hand and on the way, the other table stopped him with a question about their bill (they probably ordered guacamole!). So he set our chips and salsa down on a garbage can or something, took their bill, brought it back, explained the charges and how he had rung up their card blah blah blah. By the time the salsa arrived, set at the other end of the table by the other guest, my salad was mostly gone. The food was decent but I would not go back--Mexican food is not that hard to find and I don't need to get robbed for a mediocre bowl of guacamole which can be found anywhere; Las Palmas is certainly not worth the price.More

First visit since the previous owners many years ago. Had good service, food was tasty, no major complaints. Plenty of parking and a good out of the way spot for this get together.

We were so happy to see Las Palmas return to Mundelein since we used to enjoy it so much in the past. We went on a weekday and were surprised it wasn't more crowded. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the chicken...fajitas and marveled at the size of the dish. Seriously, I could have fed three people easily with the amount of food they had on the platter. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the chicken was tender and well seasoned. Needless to say, I brought a lot of it home and enjoyed it the next day with my daughter. My husband enjoyed a Combo Meal with a delicious Tostada, Enchilada, and Taco. The prices for the food and drinks were highly reasonable and our waitress was so pleasant, we will be sure to return again.More

Place wasn't crowded so I was surprised the service was a bit slow despite what seemed to be adequate staffing. Overall I came away with the impression of feeling full on greasy food. I had the tortilla soup which had LOTS of avocado and was...the highlight of the meals. The tortilla chips, the taco, enchilada were all just OK. If you have read my other posts, a LOT of my impression of a place has to do with the quality of the ingredients. A. as I'm getting older I am more conscientious about healthy eating, but I still really enjoy many things that don't fall into the healthy category, SO if I'm going to consume a lot of grams of fat or carb, it better be worth it, aka good quality ingredients with really good flavor. In general I would say I like things LESS salty than the norm, so that bias is always in my reviews too. Noisy and large seating area which is a great place for friends to meet, have a few drinks and get "OK" food.More
