Entire establishment desperately in need of complete upgrading and remodel. Food and service is only average with no outstanding qualities. Atmosphere equal to dining in a warehouse of used furniture.

So been here a bunch of times driving through the area and it's never busy when I've gone. Foods good as are the prices. Actually we got two big meals for the $20 special. This time service was blah and I noticed the ceiling tiles look real old and dirty. I never get the steak but can recommend the chicken... More

Sent back the steak because it was too salty. Server asked, "Do you want us to wipe it off or make a new one?" (I don't feel that statement requires more comment.) We ordered the potato skins as an appetizer. They put this orange salt all over the potatoes before the cheese was put on. Way too salty. We ordered... More

O-M-GOSH...most salty food I've never eaten! I took one bite of my chopped sirloin topped with a sautéed onion and mushroom gravy and choked on the salt😝. I could barely swallow it with my entire large glass of water. Tried to make the best of it...scraped off the "gravy" and took a bite of the chopped sirloin - it was... More

It was not to busy the night I went. It's right off the interstate, back behind hotel row. Place was newly opened, it appeared. Service was okay for a non busy night. The steak was okay, seemed to usually have better luck with Lone Stars. But it worked.

Typical chain restaurant. Food was good. My concern was that the restaurant served us our soup then quickly after served our meal before we finished soup.

Our first time in Mt. Vernon and this Lone Star. Food was outstanding as it is at other Lone Stars. The service was excellent. I really like their steaks, and my wife really likes their chicken tenders and salad. Baked sweet potatoes are always good, mashed potatoes excellent. Heck, we really liked this place. Right next to motel row on... More

We like the Lone Star very much. The food is good and Steak cooked just way liked. The sandwiches also very good, The Chicken sandwich w/bacon & swiss cheese on whole grain bun and their classic hamburger. There baked sweet potato is the best around!!!

Had a steak, baked potato, and salad, excellent! Daughter had the bourbon salmon with rice and broccoli and cheese. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake and it was delicious, highly recommend this place if you stay in Mt Vernon Illinois!!

This restaurant has really undergone a positive change in the last few years. Gone is the peanut shell covered floor and the (sometimes) loud music. From a very average or 'so-so' steak place it has evolved into a nice family restaurant with speedy and friendly servers. For our Valentine's Day celebration I selected the steak medallions with shrimp in a... More
