Always a friendly staff with a very large menu and specials at fair prices. Free parking and outstanding bar drinks. You'll love this place.

I had the WORST experience today with our online takeout order. ONE HOUR OF WAITING AND NO FOOD. I wanted to buy my dad a special meal for thanksgiving since we couldn’t see him for the holidays. I placed the order in advance through the...website on Sunday. A few important things to note, my dad is disabled and cannot walk well. A detail I entered in my order notes. My dad showed up at 5:00pm, the time of the scheduled ordered. The female working at the front asked for the name on the order and told him the food wasn’t ready yet and that they’d bring the food out to his car. 20 minutes go by and no food! My dad called me to inform me of the delay and when I tried calling the restaurant, no answer. My dad went back inside 4 times! Remember, it’s not easy for him to walk. ONE HOUR LATER, he goes back in one more time per my request. This time a male was at the front, asked for the name on the order, and then told him they don’t have an order by that name! Turns out the girl working at the front didn’t even look for the correct name on the tablet. Not until this male worker, supposedly the manager, spoke to me on the phone did they find the correct name on the order in their system. My big question, what did the staff do the 3 other times my dad came in? If the name he provided wasn't found on their tablet, shouldn’t that have been caught before the manager had to get involved? I understand it’s busy the night before thanksgiving, but it should NOT have taken ONE WHOLE HOUR for them to realize that they didn’t have the correct name. And my poor disabled father waited for an entire hour and then left in a very bad mood. When I asked him more about what happened, he said that the girl he spoke to at the front was rude as well…very disappointing service for spending close to $100 on our order for one person. I ended up ordering my dad food from Gibsons Steakhouse instead. Please reconsider being a patron at this restaurant. Absolutely a horrible experience. I would have hoped that they’d tried to be more helpful to someone with a disability…making him walk back and forth from his car for an hour on this windy evening is NOT OKAY. If I still lived in Illinois I would go in person to have a word with management here. I hope you see this and change your customer service practices. In particular, I hope you have a talk with the female employee who was working at the front of the restaurant. UNACCEPTABLE!More

Long time customers. 20+ years. The manager has known us for years and my parents were loyal patrons since Jamesons opened up until they both passed. The staff knows us including the manager Ephy. Decided to try outside tent. Waited 15 minutes before anyone even...came to the table to acknowledge us. The place had five tables full out of twenty and three servers. The first glass of wine one was vinegar! We told our server and waited another 15 minutes before she returned. 30 minutes for a glass if wine is not okay. We finally got Ephy the manager and he said it was coming. We ordered our food as soon as we could and Effy came back to make sure everything was OK. He never offered to comp my $7.50 wine or anything to make it right. Ephy - not that you care but that is how you lose loyal customers. 20 years and you didnt even try to make it right for us. It wasn't even busy. Either you are too cheap or just don't really care about your customers.More

To celebrate my first Mother's Day, my husband and I decided to give Jameson's a try. They were offering a nice prime rib special, which sounded like the perfect meal for the occasion......wrong! We ordered our feast at 1 p.m. for a 5 p.m. pickup....My husband arrived at 4:40 p.m., but it wasn't ready when he first got there. (Understandable since he was early.) The lobby was already packed (so much for social distancing....), so they instructed people to stand outside to listen for their names to be called. This would have been fine if it weren’t 39 degrees and raining. 5:00 came and went. His name didn't get called until 5:50 PM, which means they had him stand outside in cold, rainy weather for 70 minutes SEVEN, ZERO! Now let’s talk about the food: not only was it cold but they didn't even get the order right. They gave me a tossed salad instead of the ceaser I had ordered. Then, they completely forgot to my side of mashed potatoes. This special Mother’s Day dinner was not going so well. The next day I called and spoke with the supervisor, Harris. I described the events to Harris. Unfortunately, Harris only had excuses and nothing that remotely resembled any sort of apology. But he did offer a pathetic "I don't control the weather". No Harris, you don’t. You are far from God, but you could have called people and had them wait in their cars. "We had other orders from weeks earlier". Okay again, Harris, a little restaurant management 101: don't take my order if you already had too many. "We were completely slammed". Harris, Harris, Harris.....I can't imagine I'm the only call today, a holiday, when dining out is the only way to patronize a restaurant during a global pandemic. He snarkily responded that people were actually calling to thank them for working. Hmmm...... I couldn't believe Harris was trying to defend what happened. I would have simply ordered from somewhere else. Oh, one more important point of neglect: I had ordered the Mother’s Day special I saw online for a prime rib dinner for $29.95. When I initially had ordered, the gentleman on the phone asked me what size, and I said I don't know, whatever the mother's day special is. He said, oh that's the 16oz. Turns out the phone answerer had no clue what I was talking about and just went ahead and charged me 9 bucks more for that 16oz dinner. And guess what our friend Harris had to say about that? “We didn’t have any mother's day specials running and you likely saw an ad for a different Jameson's.” Ok, then, why did the person on the phone act like he knew about it? After the call, I checked the ad and it WAS indeed for Harris’s location. I emailed the marketing manager. (Guess who that was? HARRIS!!) During our conversation, Harris cut me off saying "I'm trying to offer you a $25 gift card." Gee, thanks, considering I already paid $9 extra bucks more for an INCOMPLETE dinner I didn't even order, without my mashed potatoes. Happy Mother’s Day to you too, Harris.More

My husband and I had dinner at the Bloomingdale location this past week. The food was fine. Service okay; no real complaints. While we were finishing up, the table next to us was bussed. This is when we decided it will be a while before...ever returning, The bus boy cleared the dishes and then proceeded to wipe the table down with some dish towel he had flung over his arm. he wiped most of the crumbs to the floor. He wiped the seats with the same cloth, dropped it once on the floor and then gave the table another swipe! I'm thinking he would go and get a bottle of cleaner to spray down the table and wipe with clean paper towels. Not at all. He then put clean silverware and plates on the table....ready for the next party. At this time, especially with the corona virus, can't they take a little more time and care in protecting their patrons. Bring your hand sanitizer if you're going here for dinner!More

Despite the less than perfect experience recently, I would recommend the restaurant for an average neighborhood-quality meal at generally good pricing. It was mobbed on a Saturday. We had reserved for a large party and the people occupying the space allotted for us did not...leave promptly at all. So, we put up with a 45 minute wait, easily understanding what the circumstances were and that nothing could change that. The noise level was beyond annoying anywhere you stood or sat. Servers were bustling to keep up with demands. Once seated, the noise level made it difficult to communicate with the server. Once things went into motion, one glitch after another occurred with orders. They ran out of mashed potatoes at 8PM on a Saturday, offered to substitute fries, and the fries never showed. Two of us never got our salads until we asked to have them boxed at the end of the meal. We did not blame our server nor did we short him for his efforts. He was attentive and trying to undo what another had done. You see, what the 45 minute wait gave us was the opportunity to see the red-faced, screaming, interfering shaven-headed floor manager interfere with the organization and distribution of items leaving the open kitchen. Seen the pattern before, recognize it well - have family in the restaurant game. That is how mistakes are made and omissions occur. The loudmouth has no clue how to handle a crowd, his staff, and when to keep his hands off. He has no business in the business, so, maybe he's family? The hostess also was quite useless and appeared to be there only as window dressing. Nothing is going to hurt the volume here as they are long-established and well-advertised, but, considering how long they've been around, they still should not get so complacent. Over half of the people in our party were visiting from several states away and I know that none of them will hope to dine here when they visit in the future, despite the relatively good value of the meal.More

First of all I have to qualify that this review is based on our visit Christmas Day afternoon--it was a madhouse! First impression was not good when I called to change a 1:30 reservation and they couldn't find it. I made another reservation for 2:00...and when we arrived that reservation was missing too! They did seat us in about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering the crowd. You get a lot of food for the dinner price--soup and salad, entree includes potato and choice of vegetable. Our appetizer (fried calimari) was very good. All four of us ordered steak of one kind or another. Two of the four were cooked as ordered. One was seriously overcooked and one very undercooked. The one ribeye was medium rare instead of medium and it was without a doubt one of the toughest steaks I have ever ordered in a restaurant. All that being said, the service was prompt and super courteous--thanks to Rena!More

A few colleagues and I went here after work for a drink and a bite to eat. From the moment we walked in the staff were very unhappy. They all seemed miserable. The place didn't seem too busy. We decided to go to the bar...area where it became evident that it was a local hangout and we were outsiders. The food was actually very good, but due to the service and atmosphere we will not be back.More

I would be right there with you. Bar seating in most places in the Chicago area is still not in very good active effect. I advise you call Jameson's. They are open all day and could tell you.
