About
Welcome to Pies By Inge Hi, My name is Tracy Bodine, owner of Pies by Inge. I have owned the business since 2009 and in 2016, took over as a sole proprietorship. My family and I have lived in Monticello since 1995. My husband, Darren and I, have 5 children, Hannah, Luke, Owen, Ava, and Eliza. The two youngest were adopted from Ethiopia in 2010. We make everything fresh from scratch in small batches using only the finest ingredients. We bake the old-fashioned way without the use of preservatives or stabilizers so our desserts are meant to be enjoyed fresh from the oven. Two days' notice is appreciated for most orders. So if you need a dessert for Saturday, please call us by Thursday evening.

Had a quick lunch at The Brown Bag and was so glad to have room for a piece of chocolate chip cake. Then, when we got to our family reunion, a cousin also brought some strawberry cake and German Chocolate Pie. Both fantastic!

I order pies from Inge for every holiday and special event. I especially love the coconut cream, butterscotch meringue and strawberry rhubarb, but there are dozens of options. You can also get pies by the slice when you eat at The Brown Bag, and that's always a great way to end lunch.
If you love dessert but hate the baking part, this is the place for you. There is a deposit for the pan which is refunded when you return it, so there's no waste of metal pie pans.

Wow! The dessert case was loaded with so many good looking options it was hard to decide what to order but locals recommended the carrot cake. I could only eat half with my meal but finished the rest later that night. I wish I lived in Monticello so I could try all the options.

Was at a friend's cookout the other day and they had a few Pies by Inge. There were blackberry, strawberry, and chocolate chip type pies.
I am more of a fruit pie than the chocolate chip type. The pies were good, but I prefer my berry pies with a little bit of the juice. These were a solid filling (used a gelatin). As i said, they were good, but for me not great.
However, several people really enjoyed them. There were people there that don't like fruit (how can someone not like fruit) and they seem to enjoy the one with the chocolate chips.
I was back the next day and did have another piece of pie.

Friends and I had lunch out and had a slice of pie by Inge. There were so many types it was hard to decide but I settled on the fruit pie and it was really good. I ordered apple struedel pie as a gift and three people ate the whole
pie in one night!

You can't go wrong with one of the pies at the Brown Bag Deli made by Pies by Inge. There are also cookies and cakes - all very yummy.

The Pies by Inge at the Brown Bag in Monticello are absolutely delicious. The blackberry is my favorite...but there are usually several to choose from, so you're bound to find a delicious piece of pie to call your own.

Shouldn't eat at Brown Bag without having pie. I have meet people from New York to California who know about Inge's Pies.

I spoke of these desserts in my review of the Brown Bag restaurant. We will go out of our way to stop and get a slice of pie, cake or cookie. There is no bad choice here, everything is delicious. Make sure to look in both cases - the chilled pies are at the order counter with other refrigerated foods.

This is where the best pies are found. In the back of the Brown Bag on West Washington Street, it is hard to pass up a slice.

My boyfriend's family lives in the area and we almost always stop by this wonderful little establishment to pick up pies. I have yet to have one that I didn't like. The Pecan Pie is delicious - you cannot go wrong with it.
