Brown Bag has pretty much anything you could want for.a hot or cold deli sandwich, including tuna salad, turkey salad, chicken, egg, etc. There are plenty of fresh salads, burritos, homemade soups, and a fantastic dessert counter. I had the mixed berry pie a la mode...so flaky and buttery. The food was top notch. Cute space, too.

Had a quick lunch with my sister before going out to Allerton Park for a family reunion. The soup and salad were very good. Be sure to save room for desserts!

Ive been Vegan for 9 years, and this place fed me ground beef.
I ordered a bean burrito, specifying no cheese, no sour cream. The vegan option of their bean burrito menu item. I consumed three bites before realizing that there was a foreign texture in the refried beans. I picked through the food to find that they gave me a mixture of beef and beans!
I returned to the place & requested a refund. I was very calm (i wanted to cry & scream) and asked to speak with the owner. The cashier had gone back to tell her what had happened. I watched them go through the food themselves and one of the girls laughed!
I have to request to speak with the owner a second time. When she came up she didnt even say she was sorry! She said she thought the cashier was handling it. I would think that such an error would warrant a personal apology?? if she served someone with a peanut allergy would she be so dismissive???

The portion sizes from the Brown Bag are pretty hefty, but unfortunately for me there is just something mediocre about the quality of the food. The space is unique and bizarre to say the least, as you have to climb stairs and duck through shallow hallways to get the the bathroom. Hmmm. Overall not a win for me.

Had lunch here on Saturday --
Cheese Broccoli soup and 1/2 roast beef sandwich on sour dough bread + a slice of peach pie.
The food was good, wholesome, fresh and the staff was friendly and accommodating -- nice lunch spot in downtown Monticello.

This place has been around for about 30 years. Still making great food. I am amazed at all the options that they offer yet everything is so fresh.

In Monticello on business, a local took me here. I loved their soup, Wicked Thai and ordered carrot cake to go with it. Plenty of seating here and lots of options on the menu. An art gallery is on the second level.

Love their food! Pulled Pork Fri is my absolute fave! With the Chipotle BbQ sauce. Staff is always friendly. Coleslaw is yummy! They have great food.

I have frequented this deli more times than I can count. Love the owner & her crew's personalities. Today I had the turkey bacon sandwich on egg bread, and it was quite delish! Sandwiches, salads, and desserts to choose from that will satisfy your palette.

I had the Bonnie's Turkey Salad on a croissant. Big chunks of Turkey, grape halves, walnuts, and celery on a fresh croissant. I also had a piece of Black berry pie with a flaky crust. I have dined here several times and cannot wait to go back again.
