If there was any one who could sympathize what it is to not only work through a pandemic but also to be under staffed during a pandemic - it's me. Only I don't work for extra cash i.e. tips.
My husband and I go to Johnny's for special occasions only. On 5/14 we visited Johnny's for my birthday(95% of the time its usually over shadowed by Mothers Day). My first review would be about the bread: It was wonderful as always. Drinks: My $10 chocolate martini was AMAZING! Husband and I didn't even have to stop or ask for refills on our other drinks. My husbands appetizer: Stuffed mushrooms, he couldn't stop praising how well it was prepared! Salad was alright. Main course: was all wrong. My sirloin stake was prepared as my husband requested his. His top NY strip stake wasn't a top NY strip stake and it was prepared as I requested mine. Making what ever it was over done and dry. When brought to our waitresses attention, she shut my husband down in a tone that made him refuse the entire plate without substitutions. By the way, we were still billed for a NY strip stake. My husband was so offended for being blatantly lied to about the meat he knows he enjoys eating by Ann, the waitress, he immediately declined desert. For those who have to work 2 full days for a meal at a reputable establishment such as Johnny's, we left with less to be desired.

Sadly, Johnnys has had its day in the sun. We used to love coming here for holidays and occasions with friends, but something has happened both in the front and the back of the house. The servers are not attentive and in some cases are short with and rude to the customers. There are very few of the veteran staff remaining. The food coming out of the kitchen is mediocre at best. I had veal parmesan which was basically tasteless, and the pasta was cold. My friend's steak was overcooked. We ate what was put in front of us so as to not cause any more trouble than we had already experienced. When our server finally cleared, she asked if everything was ok, and we said no. A server we knew said how about another drink. We said OK but they turned up on the bill which we thought were to have been comps for a lousy meal. Somebody said the longtime manager doesn't care anymore. Well, someone needs to or the business will fail. High prices demand high quality, but quality has disappeared here.

Jessica was a very helpful server. She made recommendations and even allowed the orders to be customized. The pace of service was just right.
As far as the food goes, it was outstanding. The lump crab cake tastes great in it's remoulade sauce. The salad is served family style, but each patron can get a different dressing on the side. Go for the Bleu cheese if you're a fan of that.
No matter what steak you order it is cooked to just the right temperature. We had a smothered steak and a filet. The toppings and side dishes are all very good. The wine selection was large enough. The ambiance is relaxing. Glad we started our Quad Cities trip by eating here.

We have come here quite often and this last time was one of our worst experiences. The sausage bread was burnt and our steaks were not even close to medium rare and rare plus as we had requested. Our server was extremely pushy didn’t allow us time even to the point when we ask questions she seem disturbed. We are trying very hard to continue to go to local restaurants not franchises but this may hinder our return to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse.

Our night started off with salad and soup arriving after an hour wait… with confused waitress asking us several times if that’s what we ordered… then our main enterees were entirely wrong and not cooked how we requested. After much discussion with manager she finally agreed to comp some of our bill. Not only our table but several others around us had the same experience… but with hair in food, timely service, manager experience. WILL NEVER BE BACK

We took our family out to celebrate our son’s birthday. I called a week ahead and made reservations and made sure they understood it was a party of 12, no problem I was told. We arrived and we were seated back in a corner by the kitchen and my son actually had to sit and block one of the entrances for the waitresses and waiters to come thru and we were very cramped. Then we heard the staff complaining that the entrance was blocked. Sorry not our problem that is where we were seated.
The dinner was very good no complaints on that but when our waiter was picking up the dishes not once but twice he dropped a spoon on one of our guests that was used for spaghetti. I called and spoke to the manager and all he could say is well bring in the dry cleaning bill and we will pay for it.
Very disappointed in the service especially when it was supposed to be a fun family celebration.

We had to sit at the bar, which was no problem, was served our drinks, given menus, and that was it. The bartenders never asked us what we wanted to eat, or if we wanted anything to order, waiting 20 minutes, which another couple had come in after us had order and was eating. We got up to leave, told the bartenders we was going to order, but seeing as how neither one of them wanted to wait on us, forget it. When we was leaving, asked if the gentleman at the door was the manager, he said yes, I proceeded to tell him what had happened, he pretty much just blew me off. I told him word of mouth goes along way, as we were out the door, he came out and shouted for us to pray for them. Really and your a manager.

My trio of medallions was overcooked probably because of the crust they add to top. I assume you need to undercook it since it will be cooked more when adding the crusts. The garlic potatoes were like glue. way overcooked. Johnny's has definitely gone downhill. We use to love to come in and have the tiramisu, back when it was homemade. Definitely different these days. Tastes like from a box. Glad we were on a gift certificate, wouldn't come back to pay the prices for mediocre food. The calamari was excellent and our server was on point! My husband had the porterhouse with the gorgonzola crust which was mostly butter and bread crumbs very little gorgonzola, very overpowering way too thick.

All these negative reviews, and the Company response, thanking them for feedback, but many of the issues fail to be corrected. Must be poor management. Food was cold and silverware certainly seen it’s prime/dirty. Waiters didn’t follow up with drinks Avoid this place!!!

First Visit.... Great service. All our food was served perfect.
Our steak was cooked right to our medium liking. We also ordered a salmon dish and requested for the risotto side dish, which was excellent. Our beer was not overpriced. Pretty happy, we will. be back.

Very disappointing experience at this restaurant tonight seemingly due to racism. My husband and I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not full. We were seated right beside (in arms length) of the bussing station. We were the only customers seated in that section. We asked to be seated by the window in a nicer area and were told by the waitress that she would need to ask a manager. The manager came over and said he had no where to move us despite the large number of empty tables. After a few minutes we decided to leave. The manager seemed okay with us leaving. There were no other African American patrons in the restaurant and everyone else was Caucasian including the waitress and the manager. I would not recommend this restaurant to any racial minority.

Our experience started off poorly with the “gentleman “that greeted us for our table. A young lady had already asked us all of the pertinent information, and we were ready to be seated, but he had to come in, and I am assuming, play his part. He was arrogant, did not listen, and his general demeanor irritated me.
We were told we would have to wait then we were told our table is ready. Then we had to wait again. We were a party of four and was seated at a table for a party of eight.
It went downhill from there. There was one pasta dish ordered and three orders of filet Oscar. We had three martinis and a gin and tonic. So anybody with a calculator and knowing what the cost would know this was not a cheap dinner. The only thing decent was the pasta dish.
The filet Oscars, well that’s another story in itself. The crab meat tasted off, it tasted like old fish and not what I expected from Johnny’s.
The baked potato, that two of us had was so over baked you could not cut the potato skin with a knife. We ask for the potatoes to be loaded and they Must of been running short on fillings that night because they were anything but. An interesting note was we had asked for balsamic vinegar to mix with the olive oil for our bread. A pretty standard saying I feel it in Italian eatery. The poor young lad that was waiting on us. It was a new and had not a clue what the vinegar was. He went to ask and came back and told us that he was told they were out of the balsamic vinegar. Ok, must’ve been a huge run on that for the night.
We have had the fillet Oscar at Johnny’s in Omaha and Johnny’s in Thornton, Colorado. The bar was set at those two locations. The bar was knocked off at this one. Overall, I rank her meal very poor, not the quality that I expected from Johnny’s Italian steakhouse

Great food and service. The sausage bread appetizer was fabulous extremely tasty and quite satisfying. My New York strip was cooked to perfection and was seasoned perfectly. My wife’s linguine and clams was Cooked to perfection and very tasty. The service was fabulous.

This was always our favorite place to eat when visiting the Quad Cities until last night.
To start it off we were seated at the end of the bar where the staff constantly goes by to the kitchen (the restaurant wasn’t full so there was plenty of other seating). Staff left dishes, pitchers & the spray bottle with rag on the end of the bar in our view.
The focaccia bread was warm but very doughy on the bottom.
Calamari rings were okay but there were 3 large whole ones that were extremely tough.
I ordered the petite filet. The presentation was wonderful but I took a bite & discovered it was a little over room temperature! I did tell the waitress about it and told her I wouldn’t send it back since I don’t like reheated steak. It was very flavorful but would have been so much better if it had been hot.
I ordered Brussel sprouts on the side and they were hard, dried up with an awful flavor . We sent them back!
My husband had the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs and his food was very tasty.

My friend and I happened to be in Davenport Iowa. Asked the hotel front desk where they recommended for a good steak. Recommended Johnnys and it was delicious. I had the filet. Melted in my mouth. The salad dressing was fantastic. My friend had the smothered steak and hers too was melt in the mouth! Had an opportunity to recommend Johnnys to friends headed to Davenport at the end of the month and they will be visiting. I would most definitely recommend and return. We ate outside and it was lovely
