This is a restaurant located on the shore of the Mississippi River. It is open year round but probably mostly caters to boaters during the Summer. My husband and I wanted to check out this restaurant as it had burned down a while ago, they...rebuilt and opened recently. We arrived and the hostess took our name and number, she said we would get a text when our table was ready. We ordered a drink at the bar. There were two bartenders, both with masks on, due to Covid. Neither of them had theIr mask over their nose, which means they’re really not wearing a mask at all. One of the bartenders had a “TRUMP 2020” mask on which I found unprofessional and offensive. The scene behind the bar was a mess, a lot of clutter and disorganization. Unattractive. We considered sitting at the bar for dinner because the tables and booths around the restaurant had a cafeteria/gym type lighting, too bright and garish. Definitely could use dimmers on the lights. The lighting is inconsistent through out. Some fixtures and bulbs are warm and welcoming and other lighting is too bright and annoying. We decided to be seated. Our waitress was prompt and professional. The presentation of our food was nice. I had a salad with salmon, which was warm and delicious. My husband had a filet and shrimp tempura. The flavor was good, but the temperature was cold. Unfortunate! The restaurant was completely full when we arrived, but emptied out as we were eating. Toward the end of our dinner the staff started to clean up around us, wiping down tables, putting chairs up on tables, sweeping. We had not completely finished so we took ourselves to the bar area to finish. One of my pet peeves is staff cleaning up around us when we’re trying to finish dinner. Maybe we’ll return when they work out the kinks of reopening and improve the atmosphere.More

We were here for a family birthday lunch on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. We looked forward to a return to the Captain's Table which has been rebuilt since a fire. They had a good lunch crowd but were by no means busy. We had...a very nice waitress who really took very good care of us and it is not her fault that she had to bring such a disappointing lunch out of that kitchen. The prime rib sandwich was so tough and grisly it was inedible. One order of coleslaw had a hair in it. A bloody Mary was undrinkable due to either the mix or that it had been made with gin. The crab and shrimp cheese dip was not hot. The clam chowder was actually the best thing ordered. To top it off the dining area was literally infested with flies due to half the dining room doors and windows being open to the outside. They had to be in the kitchen also. The manager came to the table and was very apologetic and did take 50% off the bill. Not a good experience.More

So after a 2year wait to dine at Captains Table, after the fire....we went today to celebrate a birthday...first they don’t take reservations. I had to call 3 times with a 2 hour window. Then requested a table inside, not a booth. They took us to...a booth. I said I had hoped for a table. It was NOT busy. We were seated at a table by a window to high for aNy view. Window full of bugs, flies and a bee, which we had to swat to death. We mentioned this to the waitress...here comes a clean up crew to clean the window WHILE WE WERE EATING. we asked the kid to wait til we were done eating, he was only doing what he was told. The lunch menu was lack luster. I had hoped for lobster or broiled shrimp. Nope....It’s a holiday weekend for crying loud why not have the entire menu available... Then as I go for anOther bite of cole slaw...squiggly black hair in it.yuk..I was done My daughter didn’t like her cocktail, on off tasting bloody Mary. The waitress said she would Bring her. AnOther but had to charge her for both. So she passed on a 2nd drink. The food was just ok, not as delicious as I had remembered. My second drink came as we were boxing up leftovers. I had hoped to enjoy it with my lunch. We had planned to have dessert since it was a bday but the whole experience was a big let down so we paid the bill and left. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.More

The have reopened after their total loss fire a couple of years. Great view of the river and the layout is very nice. We both had the Clam Chowder and drinks to start. The chowder was outstanding- probably the best I’ve had. The shrimp were...prepared perfectly and my grilled tenderloin sandwich was good. The order turnaround time was very good as well. Our waiter, David, dis a great job. Now why I gave it a 3 Star (I’m expecting it to move to a 5 with time): We were seated next to the kitchen door and had to hear the wait staff yell “coming in” or “coming out” constantly. Hardly relaxing. There was an entire wall full of available booths (we requested). Why we were seated here I’ll never know. The clam chowder though very good, was just a bit above luke warm. A couple of flies bugged us during our meal occasions landing on our food. Yuck! I do believe they will get their act together and we will give it another try in a few weeks. It is obviously a local favorites as it was very busy. Another note: There was no “Social distancing” at the bar. None and it was full.More

My wife and I went on the first night they re-opened. As expected, it was really busy and the kitchen was slow. However the server was great and the atmosphere is one of, if not the best river-side seating option in the Quad Cities. Indoor...and Outdoor seating available, the whole place was done very tastefully and it great. Expect to wait on busy nights, but its worth it. We tried the Calamari, Crab Cakes & the Tempura, Grilled and Coconut Shrimp plate. Great seafood for the Midwest, it'd be great seafood for the coast. The kitchen will get the flow of things under control when they are used to operating again. Very glad this place opened back up.More

We happened to be driving by this place and decided to stop. Had the shrimp and crab dip appetizer, as well as the blue cheese mushrooms. Both were cheesy and fantastic. For our entree we split the prime rib special. Ordered the meat medium rare,...and it was wonderful. We also split a piece of the key lime pie for dessert. Everything was tasty and fairly priced.More

Very quiet place the night we were there. Large booths could accommodate 6 people easily. Great view of the river next to the window. Started with a crab dip that was very over-the-top with stringy cheese for my taste. Kinda of reminded me of a...piece of crab flavored Casey's pizza (not a put down, just the amount and texture reminded me of it...I like Casey's pizza). I ordered the Catfish dinner, baked potato with broccoli. Probably one of the best catfish filet I have ever eaten. Loved the spice, crispy on the outside, but still moist in the middle. Good sized potato with butter and sour cream. Broccoli was fresh, but a little soft. Waitress was good, but distracted. Appeared to be a very clean restaurant. Will go again when I am looking for a great piece of catfiish.More
