This place is dark...like the lights need to be turned on kind of dark. That might be part of the appeal I guess. I have never been to England so it might be dark there, too. I digress. It is fun. They have an interesting menu, but I have only eaten the fish and chips. Most tasty. They have some... More

We were in town for baseball and I always use trip advisor to find a place to eat. This place had good reviews and the menu looked great. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but it's a pleasant surprise. We sat outside on the patio with a jazz trio playing-was great! The inside was English pub like, but... More

This location has a bar and restaurant with different hours. I walked in one Sunday night to meet a friend at the bar and was yelled at by some young twit who I presume was the hostess : "We are closed. You will have to leave.!" I turned to leave and the bar tender said: "I'm open". My response was... More

In Rockford for business and found this place on trip advisor. In the middle of the pack. One word Fantastic! Nice cosy pub atmosphere. Background music, but also TV screens with sports. Two pints, fish and chips with Scotch egg appetizer was $34. WELL worth the money. Not had fish and chips better this side of the pond. Well done!

I come here to listen to music on the weekends mostly. Live bands are pretty good. The few times I ate it was really good.

This place was shockingly good. I came in with very little expectations and every single person in my six person party was happy. I loved the food, the beer, and the atmosphere. I will be coming here regularly.

This place has a Irish theme to it. Wife and I love fish so we went for the fish and chips which I was told was excellent. Service was as slow as could be. Very few others eating. The fish came out hot and there was a nice plate of it. My problem was the fish was covered in about... More

Had a wonderful meal of the onion and cheese pie. Strongbow on draft. The scotch egg appetizer is good, but served cold, and I prefer mine warm. Otherwise, will most definitely be back!!

Always love a night out at the Hope and Anchor! Interesting menu options. Always more than satisfied. Some favorites include the salmon, onion rings and fish and chips.
