I recently held a wedding rehersal dinner 35 people and wedding welcome drink for all guests coming for 3 hours after dinner. Everything was very easy from the planning to the execution. The staff was outstanding and the entire evening was enjoyed by everyone. We...started with Hors D'orves (calimari and Italian sausage followed by the meal. I had the chicken parm which was excellent. The bar was open the entire evening and managed very efficiently. The signature drink for the wedding was an old fashioned and it was very popular. The owners and staff were very easy to deal with and there were zero surprises (a good thing). A special call out to Luis who was outstanding in managing the entire evening. There was plenty of space as they gave us the entire downstairs and they have a beautiful outside patio also. Highly recommended for just a dinner for yourself or a group ( they managed a large group very well).More

Enjoyed a family dinner to celebrate our son's birthday. His choice and a GREAT one! Our first visit and so memorable. Love when we can have a round table - so warm and easy to chat. Meals arrived quickly, piping hot and were delicious. Portions...generous, and server quite attentive. Order the Lady in Red Cocktail - luscious, pretty & yummy! A fine experience is a lovely setting.More

Came with friends at the suggestion of others and enjoyed a nice evening here. Friendly attentive staff excelled and the tables were nicely spaced allowing for conversation. Drinks were ok… my first pour was half the strength of my second. Crafted drinks and cocktails were...also average. The Caesar salad was well received and like the wedge salad was large enough for two. The wedge had nice chopped onions and tomatoes but lacked flavor and enough tasty dressing to be ordered again. The bread was tasty and garlic, olive oil, tamponade was very flavorful. Main courses included the salmon which was nicely grilled and generous in size, the flounder which was rated top dish of the evening for its delicate taste and nice flavor. My veal saltimbuco was salty as expected and had a nice amount of cheese and prosciutto but left me a bit hungry. Our waiter paced the dinner well and was helpful. We’d return……More

My friend and I celebrated her birthday with a weekday lunch at Enzo and Lucia, a place she had been to several times before. Her birthday, her choice. We were greeted promptly and shown to a table. We opted for seating indoors rather than outdoors,...although plenty of people chose the patio. On the waitress' recommendation, I had the pasta carbonara. She told me that many people name it as their favorite, even after they have tried it elsewhere. When I ate it, I could see why. It was delicious, and the pancetta was tasty and plentiful. My friend had soup and Caesar salad with chicken. She said it was great, and it looked great. Service was professional and prompt. After lunch, we had coffee and cannoli, which was also good. I would definitely like to come back. Maybe I would try another dish, or maybe just go for the pasta carbonara again.More

I was excited for a couples evening out and made RSVP. We were seated 15 minutes late and waited 20 minutes for a place setting once seated. Appetizers came out and were good but took 30 minutes. I ordered Linguine and clams and after being...seated And ordered over an hour later they told me they had run out of clams and they told me to take this different dish because it was similar. It had muscles and calamari in it which I do not like and I switched it with someone else at my party. They did not do anything nor did anyone from the restaurant come over and explain the problem or make it right. Furthermore while dining the party next to us told me after they had already ordered and waited that they had run out of chicken on the bone and two meals had to be changed after waiting themselves for 40 minutes. I was very disappointed with the service of the restaurant and the management was nowhere to be seen on the floor at any time. I do not know if I will be back !!! I was expecting a lot more from this place..More

I hosted a bridal shower in the gazebo outside of the restaurant on Saturday, July 3 and was very pleased with the experience. I worked with Renata to plan in advance. The basic details were established in a brief exchange of emails and a $200...deposit given via phone. The week prior to the event, Renata and I had a brief phone call to walk through our needs and finalize the details. She was also available to me for the occasional one-off question. The day of the event, our server was Claudio. He and I met prior to the start of the event and he ran through the event with me, making sure he understood his instructions perfectly. As a hotel event manager myself, I appreciated the communication between the planning team and onsite operational team. Claudio was very friendly, attentive, and remembered everyone's name. It felt as if I had been hosting events there for years. Our five course meal was fantastic--all of my guests and I loved the food! First course: bruschetta and sausage & peppers Second course: Caesar salad Third course: chicken saltimbocca Fourth course: farfalle with broccoli garlic and olive oil Fourth course: mini cannoli Claudio and his coworker (Fernando?) happily boxed up our leftovers (our attendance came in under our final guarantee) and let the groom and father of the bride eat them when they made their appearance at the end of the shower, offering them drinks as well. I received wonderful feedback from all of our guests--they loved the location, the setting, the food, the service. I was so grateful, as I chose this location based on my mother's recommendation. She and her friends have been eating here regularly for years, and now I may join them given the opportunity.More

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this restaurant a 14! The food and atmosphere are exceptional. We dined there last night for our 49th Wedding Anniversary and our Server, Claudio was the absolute best. He recommended both an excellent Bourbon and...Wines. In fact, he is the individual who picks out the wine for the restaurant and he made outstanding recommendations. Our appetizer, salad and main courses were delicious. Their Chefs are Artists! Claudio also gave us a surprise desert, Limoncello. After dinner we had the pleasure of meeting with both the owners at our table, Renata and Glen, After speaking with them, you can truly see that they give 180% to their business. They are exceptional. This Restaurant has made it to our top restaurant list and we will become regular customers. Thank you for a spectacular experience!More

If you had read restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor's website for more than a few years, you are aware that every eatery attracts good and bad reviews. Hopefully, more good than bad. But nobody is perfect, right? Well, Enzo and Lucia in Long Grove, Illinois, may...be a rare exception. I haven't noted any negative evaluations. And after visiting the Italian ristorante in historic Long Grove Village, my wife and I have nothing but good things to say. Located at 343 Old McHenry Road, housed in a historic Victorian-styled home built in 1876, Enzo and Lucia has old country charm and an outdoor patio and an outstanding menu of imported goods, classic Italian dishes and sacred family recipes. They specialize in risotto, fresh fish served whole, veal Marsala and cappellacci, a rarity on any menu. We decided to take spiffy lunch break from shopping and we couldn't have been more pleased. We started with bruschetta with garlic roast, heirloom tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella and Caesar salad with romaine, croutons, parmesan Reggiano, shrimp and Caesar dressing. For an entree, I couldn't resist veal Scallopini with sauteed onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and basil in a light tomato sauce with grilled vegetables. My wife flipped a coin. She couldn't decide whether to choose veal Marsala with sauteed mushrooms and onions in a Marsala wine sauce or meat ravioli in a tomato basil sauce or lasagna with layers of ground beef, pasta, tomato sauce and ricotta cheese topped with meat sauce. The choice? Veal Marsala. She wasn't disappointed. For dessert, we shared a large portion of delicious tiramisu, as good as we've ever experienced. What's cappellacii? Pasta dumplings filled with ricotta, squash and spinach or asparagus and soaked in tomato sauce. Oh, did I forget? I washed my veal scallopini down with a glass of skim milk. I mention that because how many restaurants offer no-fat milk? Open from 11:30 am. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Enzo and Lucia have it all, dine-in, curbside pickup or delivery.More

During these difficult times, it is challenging to know what decisions to make about going to a restaurant. Today, my family and I decided we needed to go out and "live". We sat in the garden which was absolutely lovely. Our wait staff Galia was...over the top wonderful! She couldn't have been more pleasant and she made us feel right at home. The environment is set for success at keeping people distanced and the employees were extremely conscientious when it came to serving, clearing, etc, Did I mention the food was AMAZING?! My mother and sister in law can be challenging to please. BOTH loved their meals and said they would like to return! That may be the biggest compliment a restaurant can get! The food was served at the right temperature and each dish was flavorful (we are a family that shares). Great experience and thank you for making our first dining out experience during COVID a positive one!!! By the way... Save room for the Limoncello cake!!!! UNREAL!!!! CaraMore

In a time of burdensome Covid-19 mask restrictions we decided to dine at Enzo & Lucia's in Long Grove for our last evening with our family before departing the next morning. It was a great choice, actually we had thought it would be. Excellent menu,...great service, good wine list, and well proportioned entrees. I had the homemade Italian sausage and peppers appetizer with a side of pasta for my entree and it was excellent and I ended up taking a whole sausage home. Some of our number have diet restrictions and they were able to make satisfying choices. Already looking forward to dining here again on our next trip north. Hopefully without the masks.😎More

Have been looking for a nice Italian restaurant for a while. This place is wonderful. Nice ambiance and and fantastic service. Food was well flavored and served hot. Chicken Parmigiana was perfectly cooked. No pasta included, so added a side of pasta for $2. Special...Short Rib ravioli was tried and had fantastic sauce although not a fan of the mushy inside. Had some of the best Tiramisu ever...plus a Lemoncello cake that was FABULOUS. What a great find for me and one that I will be sure to go back to soon.More

My wife and I recently had dinner at Enzo and Lucia's with some friends. The restaurant was still decorated for Christmas and the ambience inside and in the area was terrific. On a really cold night, it might be tough being seated near the front...door, as the place is very small and half the place feels the cold draft every time the front door opens. We were blessed with a table in theback and it was lovely. The food was very good - we shared meatballs for an appetizer and the four of us went with either traditional Italian dishes or fish. all was prepared well, except one of the entrees which mentioned peas being included in the sauce had none. The sauces were delicious and all was cooked perfectly. We did have to muddle through the ordering and check process with an inexperienced server who was struggling with a new computer system throughout, but we trust they will work the bugs out. Tiramisu dessert was marginal, but I am admittedly a snob when it comes to my favorite! We will give it another chance soon - maybe after it warms up a bit!More

Our party of 10 waited an hour to be seated. The large group with an earlier reservation ,seated almost 2 hours ahead of us, were feeling no pain and just would not leave. The owner Glenn because of the inconvenience could not do enough for...us. He gave our group $ 100.00 worth of appetizers on the house. Every morsel of Italian cuisine was outstanding- the best veal marsala and minestrone soup I have had in years. No wonder E&L’s has been there for years. The restaurant is housed in an attractive stark white frame dwelling with a colonial motif. It was a fantastic way to bring in the year 2020. the 10 of were raving-“ best Italian food ever!!!More
