Love this place in my neighborhood. Chopped salad and flatbread are my favorites. With the combo I get a little of both. Love the clubby atmosphere too.

For some reason, I had never heard of this restaurant that is right around the corner from the college campus where I teach. I ended up here for a mini-reunion with some students and a colleague with whom I had gone to France. Our meal was stellar and since then I have been back more than once to the same... More
Love L'Woods This place always has a line for a reason The dinner menu is fantastic if you want a big hearty meal. The ribs and steaks are delicious. The fish is always first rate. I will say that they are not the destination for healthy eating but they are -very friendly -very accommodating -very attentive Oh - and don't... More
I recommend reservations, even though we were seated much sooner than we were told we'd be. The menu has lots of choices, and the food is always good, so it tends to be busy. Service is attentive without being intrusive. The BBQ chicken was moist and a little smoky, I chose all dark meat (you can also get all white... More
This is a rustic and comfortable place for dinner. It doesn't have the widest range of choices I've ever seen, but there's still sure to be something to please most tastes. Portions are generous...presentation is basic (in keeping with the style of the place.) We were there on a Saturday and loved their prime rib special. Service was outstanding. And... More
I met some friends here for dinner recently. This was my second time at L Woods - the first was years ago. It still has the feel of a north woods hunting lodge, but the food is great. I had the fish and chips, with the deviled eggs as an appetizer. There was enough for two meals. I especially liked... More
Always enjoy dining here. Lots of good selections for everyone. Food is always consistent. Waitstaff knowledgeable and helpful. Good place to celebrate any special occasion
Have been coming here when I can for over ten years. It is 27 miles from my home so it is usually business done nearby and a celebratory lunch or after a show at the Skokie Valley Theatre nearby (Lewis Black, Herb Alpert, Lani Hall, Capitol Steppes recently). I don't know why I look at the menu because I always... More
It will be crowded. There will be more than you can eat. It will be good. We had over a dozen people this time and had fixed menu - calamari, walleyes & ribs & two salads & vegetables & dessert. Service was attentive. Food was basically all you could eat- more ribs please? Here you are! We brought or own... More
This place was packed with happy dinner customers. Not much to look at from the outside but the food and service makes this place. Reminded me of 1960s supper club with pictures everywhere on the walls and 1960 drinks. We had the prime rib special and it was perfect. The calamari was oily for me but not over cooked and... More
