As a retired firefighter, I always have a partiality to anything related to the firefighting industry, or businesses and interests of other firefighters. Having said this, don't think that this is gonna be one of those one sided reviews. Chief's Pub has the chops. A...nice place to hang out and have a few beers. And a great menu to satisfy any of the cravings you get after consuming said brews.More

Chief’s is a fun neighborhood bar and one of our favorite places. We usually go with a group of friends and always have a good time. The food is consistently good along with interesting craft beers - try the Zombie Dust beer. If you are...in the neighborhood give Chief’s a try.More

Everything we ordered for lunch was delicious. We tried two of the signature burgers and both the truffle and regular fries. About three years ago, Knollwood Fire Chief Chuck's son and daughter took over the Chief's Pub. Recently, Sarah bought out her brother, Joe. They...are both firefighters -- Sarah in Chicago and Joe in North Chicago. The three enormous firehouse murals still stand as a tribute to the family history/dedication.More

Great bar with good bar food. We got the fried samplers and it was so much food for 4. The pizza is good too, thin crust

Pizza is very good, tables tend to be a bit too small esp. for pizza, can get a little noisy at times, decent place for lunch and early dinner

Chief's is a solid sports bar in Lake Forest. It's our "go to" spot for great food and solid beer choices. It's usually very busy when we are there, so that has to mean it's the place to be. A young local family owns it,...and they are usually there working and helping out. Staff is always friendly. They have the NFL Sunday Ticket so if you need to find me on Sunday look here. Por Roast sandwich is my favorite, and my wife swears by their salads. Chief's is my kind of place!More

Chiefs really should be one of the "go to" places for families in Lake Forest but, unfortunately, the restaurant's food and service haven't lived up to the opportunity. The best you can say about the food is that it is average - although some swear...by the pizza. Service can be hit or miss. The bar is very nice. Wish I could give a better review.More

Whenever in the Lake Forest area there are a few choice dining locations I tend to frequent, and Chief's rates as the preferred lunch spot. Service is always friendly and attentive. The food selections are varied, well proportioned (at least at lunch), and served hot....Net-net for lunch, all you would demand and appreciate.More

Came here after a long day at Great America, looking for ‘real’ food and this did not disappoint! Nice smaller sized sports bar / pub atmosphere but was still friendly for kids (including a kids menu and all 3 enjoyed their food). Hubby enjoyed the...pork tacos and I enjoyed the Italian beef. Kiddos had a hot dog, spaghetti with meatball, and chicken tenders. Also had a good beer selection with some good, unique beers. Very enjoyable spot and would stop here again if we’re in the area.More

Food, drinks and service are all great, as are the prices. The place has a casual, comfortable feel with lots of TVs to watch the White Sox and Bears when they are on (OK, you can also watch the Cubs if you must). High ceiling...and good layout make it never feel too crowded even when it is.More
