What a cracking pub to wonder into after a steep walk up the waterfall and mountain.. Lovely place to recuperate and regain some energy (and a pint!) Dog and Family friendly, staff couldn't be more cheerful and a good selection of ales. Did not eat here this afternoon - but the food surrounding us looked lovely and we were later... More

Lovely location at the start (and end) of the stickle tarn trail. Ghyll scrambling activities taking place which look good fun for teenagers. Bar friendly, dogs and children welcomed. Games available. Bit pricey but lovely nonetheless. Superb langdale views. Walk up to tarn managed (just) by our five yr old but wouldn't want to take a younger child up there.

Popped in here just after a morning walk up the rather large mountain behind it. The food and coffee were superb, we had a cheese and red onion chutney sandwich with local cheddar, incredible. We finished with home made cream tea, 10/10. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Situated most wonderfully in the Langdale Valley and owned by the National Trust, Sticklebarn is a splendid family pub selling beer, tea, cake, flapjack, alcohol and many other refreshments. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is a lovely environment inside and out. The staff were very kind and helpful and the cream teas were absolutely fabulous. In a... More

We visited 3 times over the Easter weekend and found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely environment inside and out. They have kids films playing upstairs, ideal for rainy days. The food was great too, we all loved the sweet potato fries!! 👍🏻

Others might night have liked this NT pub but we loved it. The food might be slightly more expensive but it was still good value. I had a lovely lamb comber with cheese scone and vegetables, my husband had Cumberland sausage with bubble and squeak. The beer was great. Wonderful. The only fault was the time spent queuing at the... More

Stopped at this National Trust pub on way back from long walk by Blea tarn and through Langdales. Had great cake, coffee, hot chocolate and beer and sat outside in sunshine. All delicious and even though it was busy, the service was good.

I have been visiting the Stickle Barn for many many years and this may now be my problem with the place. The location is great, half way up one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District - I have a house in this valley where I spend a good proportion of the year. The staff are great. The... Everyone is so well looked after at stickle barn its a total joy, including children and dogs!!! Gorgeous outside area with chunky new tables and benches, all local ales and a nice selection of food. Everywhere in the lakes needs a national trust pub like sticklebarn but we are happy just to have the one little gem!!!
