Heard about this place from a coworker. Decided to drive the hour from home to give it a try on a Saturday afternoon with the wife. Was easy to get to from northern suburbs with plenty of parking as it's located in a strip mall. Upon entering we were amazed at how large this business is. Tons of seating which means your bumping shoulders with other patrons while getting your food. Food selection was huge! Food was very tasty, except for the crawfish which was tasteless and overcooked. There is a line you must wait on if you want to eat the snow crab, wasn't too long of a wait, about 10-minutes, but still it's rather annoying to have to wait considering how large the place is. They should have a better system set up to have it readily available just like other items. I've seen pictures of lobster, there is no lobster, very disappointing especially for the price. Two people with two sodas plus local Cook County tax, which is always ridiculous, and tip cost us $90. While enjoyable for the most part this is not the type of place to frequent regularly if cost is a factor. Would I come back again, not sure, time will tell.

I had low expectations as my family arrived 45 minutes before closing. The selection was decent even though they weren’t refilling the items anymore. The most disappointing thing about the experience is the server came over at closing time, basically grabbed the plate from in front of me without asking, and just assumed I was finished. All because they wanted to get out of there.

First time I came was amazing but that was about 6 years ago . Came again today for the first time in years and left disappointed. Food wasn’t hot,rice was hard . I was charged while still eating at the table and they never came back with my money

The crabs were all bad, there was no meat, and there was no sashimi on the sushi bar. The staff would ignore you when they saw it, and they didn't want to replenish the stock. Until you left, there was still no sashimi out，The attitude of the staff was very bad. It wasn't worth it. No fresh seafood ，Forty dollars. It's not worth it. I don't want to go again，

Disgusting, floor was nasty and sticky. Sushi was so INCREDIBLY DRYYYYYY. The worst sushi i’ve ever tried. Every single thing I eat was cold. Our server had an attitude, and when we gave her the tip she looked at it and made this nasty face. They should close down this disgusting place.

This is still one of my highly rated buffet, except for the price. They raised it to $17 for lunch. Ask for senior discount of 10%. This restaurant is catered to Asian and especially Chinese. Lots of selections. There is also a Mongolian BBQ station. Highly recommended.

I ask a some waiters for a crab breaker and more drink but they ignore me and then when I pay she ask me for more tip . I left 6 dollar because she didn’t serve good but she want $10 o more and she was bothering me . I will don’t got anymore to Royal . No thanks and This no the first bad experience with the waiters

Lots of insects flying around today. Also the place smelled bad around the bar area. I think they need to do a thorough cleaning. We've been many times over the years and this is the first time we've had this experience with the smell and the bugs. Please do a thorough cleaning soon.

Never go there again!!! 1st time ive been to a buffet and left hungry and paid $40pp. Had to wait 10min for both grill and crab legs and only allowed 2 crab legs pp at a time. Food was not good and most didnt know what it was, couldnt find names. The worst buffet ever and the price made it worse. Then they have a sign that says if you waste food you pay extra. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

The price on the website says $14.49 price when we got there was $20 we asked that they removed the dollar for a senior discount, they did not! It's a bait and switch.

Royal Buffet compared to Super China buffet? It’s cheaper at Super China buffet and the food is much fresher and more variety of Chinese food if you don’t like seafood.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Ken the manager is absolutely not the person who should be in charge. Completely unacceptable service for the price you pay. We have been regulars at this restaurant for a while now. When the price went up, we didn't complain because the food was delicious! The past couple of months have gone completely down hill. The sushi uses imitation crab and fake fish. You can taste how incredibly not fresh it is. The crab leg line is always super long and a ten minute plus wait each time. This past time we went will be the last. We went in a group if five (usually costs about $200 before tip). Throughout our entire dining experience, we could not get anyone to get us refills. One server said your server is eating lunch and kept walking. I finally went up and asked for a manager after a server flat out ignored me when I asked him if we could get refills. The manager did absolutely nothing. We asked politely for a discount for the inconvenience, he told us there was nothing he could do and if we did not like the service we received, we should not tip. Absolutely disgusting behavior and totally made sense why the staff was so rude as well. We will never be back here. Save yourself the time and money. Go elsewhere! There are cheaper, better quality, and fresher food options. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE.

Made the mistake of going on a weekend.. the price of the buffet is bumped quite a bit to make up for the crab legs and lobster.
Sad that even if you don't get the items you still pay much higher than normal.
