Tacos el Norte is always good. Had assorted tacos, my favorite is torpedo and fish taco. Taco salad is good. Large and delicious. Burritos are very good.
Went to lunch with business associate, had the burrito he had the tacos. They were fine but not memorable. The refried beans tasted canned, the rice ok not very flavorful would we go back, maybe yes maybe no depends on other choices. This is a place...where your order, pay and pick up your own food no waitressesMore
Had dinner here on a Friday night with another family and the food was superb. We had camarones a la diabla, tamales, carne asada, burritos and tacos and everything was fantastic. Despite the generous portions there was very little to take home. We will definitely...be back.More
OK, this is a traditional Mexican style restaurant, no surprises and no pretension, just cheap eats. The portions are large, and there are always chips and salsa on the table.
Very slow service, waitress got both our orders wrong, food wasn't very good, waitress didn't bring the check. Nothing good to say.
We've carried out from this place several times. Last night, we ordered a guacamole and chips appetizer, grilled shrimp dinner and steak taco salad. The food was ready when I arrived and the person at the counter entered my frequent buyer points without me having...to ask. My wife loved her grilled shrimp. Instead of having the steak salad in a deep-fried bowl, I opted for it on a plate with chips. Two problems: a total of three chips, and completely soggy due to the other ingredients. Speaking of ingredients, the sour cream, guacamole and refried beans were plated in the corners but invisible under a mound of well-cooked steak. The onions were also well (over) cooked but the green peppers were almost raw. Strange. So I ended up with sour cream and lettuce on my fork, then guacamole and steak, then refried beans and green pepper. Maybe I should have mixed everything together in the styrofoam container before eating. The guacamole was completely bland. Not a spice to be tasted. The chips were great, big, crunchy and unbroken. This ranking was high (4) only because of my wife's pleasure with her food and the amount of steak in my salad.More
I went to Taco's El Norte recently to pick up a dinner for 6 of us. We arrived with a detailed list which detailed what everyone wanted, including extras. We waited well over 40 minutes for the food. We assumed the order was correct. When...we got it home, the guys were waiting on the porch confused about such a long wait. My husband ordered 3 shrimp tacos. While they were good, they were very small. My burrito suizo was fine, but it was with chicken. Everyone else was left hungry. Considering the bill was over $50 that surprised me. My DIL also specified she didn't want sour cream on hers. It came with it, so I asked to have hers as a side. I got the side, but hers was loaded with so much sour cream she couldn't eat it. She's quite pregnant and it turned her stomach. So, my advice is to check into how large the item is that you're ordering. Also, call your order in. It's not a short wait.More
Have been several times. Great food, good portions, well prepared, good prices. A large selection and restaurant does respond to special food needs. Great for lunch and carryout.
Almost home cooked Mexican food. Reasonable prices and plain old good food. They speak a lot of Spanish and have local, I think, Mexican population. One reason I think it is authentic
This is a simple place with above average food and good service. Authentic options along with some TexMex.
Some of our family are veggies, other's don't eat meat. Service is always quick and with a smile. Beans are excellent (my gauge for a good place) and rice ttoo. Home salsas and pico also top notch.
Friendly little restaurant with excellent salsa and chips. Guacamole in two sizes that is very plain but fresh. Least salt of any guacamole we have ever had and that can’t be a bad thing. You can order a single chili relleno stuffed with cheese and...that may be enough for one person with a side order of rice and beans. Rice has nicely chopped vegetables added. Refried beans are a bit salty. Also ordered a shrimp toastada that was crispy but shrimp seemed undercooked so I asked the server and they immediately took that and replaced it. They wish to please. Recommend for authentic and cheap eats.More
We decided to try a different Mexican establishment for carry-out and followed the ratings. It's absolutely true that the prices are lower - we spend about half what we would at our previous haunts - but you don't get quite as much quantity for the...money. My wife said the tacos (2 fish, 1 shrimp) tasted very good but didn't have much seafood. She was still hungry. My steak burrito was loaded with meat and would have been a meal, except I also ordered a chicken gordita. And naturally, guacamole appetizer, made fresh with chunks of avocado, and a heathy bag of chips. We'll do this place again, but my wife will order more food.More
Chiles relleños is so good and the enchiladas molé my favorite! The fresh salsas & guacamole are delicious!
