A good deli is worth its weight in gold and this one is no exception. I really like this one and I like the taste of their corned beef. There are a few places in the area that put more cloves in than I would like but Max's does not. The sandwiches are good, the matzoh ball soup is delicious... More

Whether looking for breakfast food morning, afternoon or night, Max's is the place to go. Large portions of eggs and yummy potatoes...pancakes...bagels with lox and cream cheese... Great, friendly service. They can handle groups, large and small, and have a counter area if you prefer.

I went with a party of 5 and we all had something different. The food was very good. Loved the Onion Rings, Homemade Chips and table had pickle's on arrival to the table. The sandwiches had a lot of meat on them and can def. be shared. When I'm back in the area, I will def. stop by and have... More

Good Jewish style Deli. Portions are large enough with breakfast all day which for me is a big plus. I guess in the mid west this may be as good as it gets??

Great option for traditional Jewish dishes, & deli. Usually busy but seating & service efficient. Good value for quality & quantity of food. A treat to taste what Jewish traditional kitchen has to offer. Eat in or shop for deli items for home. Great for families. The restaurant  is not, however, a trendy chic place if you are looking for... More

It's good plentiful Jewish Deli food. Price is on par with others in the Chicago area. The problem is the owner. I can't repeat his reply's on Yelp. Look his replys to the reviews there to find out for yourself, he's sneaky and the 1st line is a normal reply then he'll skip a line and get nasty....real nasty. His... More

If you are going to run a Jewish style deli, it has to be retro. It has to have a certain atmosphere and certain menu items. A role model is Max and Benny's the Bagel or Mannys. There are not many left in Chicago. It is not healthy food. It never was, but it can be tasty as hell. And... More

We were staying in Skokie--meeting relatives for a long weekend. We selected this restaurant because we had heard good things about the food. The other couple shared white fish platter and ordered a couple of soups. Wife had the veggie burger which she enjoyed. I had the chicken dinner which was excellent. No complaints from anyone in our group; service... More

This place is a joke! The food, service and ambience went downhill under this new ownership. The booths we were seated at were filthy with crumbs on it from the previous guests. The corned beef sandwich we ordered had a piece of hair on it. When we complained to the waitress she told us the manager would not come over... More

This unassuming store front hides a large restaurant and deli inside. It was mobbed when we arrived Sunday morning with families. We were served a basket of delicious bread. I has a Rachel which is pastrami and kraut served on marble rye and blanketed with melted cheese. It was excellent. The cheese blitzes and a light filling and we're a... More
