We usually get chicken but thought we would try something different. Mike’s homemade tenderloin is the best I’ve ever had. Way too big for one (normal) person it was big enough to share & still be full.

Great eating place, strong and well thought out menu, friendly staff, quality old school food and variety to suit various appetites. Interior is well designed offering both plenty of room for large groups to spread out and enjoy their time with more cozy spaces for...a solo patron to snuggle up to the bar. I enjoy the burgers and pizza here. Shares a kitchen with the Warehouse which is a good thing!More

Big restaurant for a small town. They can seat over 220 at a time using about three buildings combined. Not much for atmosphere, but the food is very good and you get a lot of it. They're know for their fried chicken and you can...order two or four pieces. They are big pieces of chicken, and you get a large helping of sides along with two corn fritters. That was a treat. Two of us had dinner and drinks for 38$ and had enough to take home for another complete meal. We were too full to try the pie but it looked delicious.More

We met a young couple at Gil's for supper one night. They had never been. We've eaten here a few times and never had any issues but this was not the case this time. Our friend ordered the catfish filet and as he was eating...it found a hair connected to a piece of coating. He's bald so wasn't his! He very nicely brought it to the waitress attention and she brought him another piece. However they didn't comp him his dinner or reduce the price or anything. Not sure they will ever go again.More

We all had the fried chicken. It was hot, juicy-not dry at all and delicious! The mashed potatoes are real potatoes with whit gravy! The beer was COLD. The fritters that come with the dinner melt in your mouth. The pie, OMG it’s a mile...high of sweetness!More

Been eating here for years but now live in Michigan so don’t get there as often. Excellent whole catfish, though would have loved the walleye or chicken. Had carrot cake for dessert. Slept like a baby.

We have been before but this is worth a repeat. We were there for my nephews birthday. Of course I had to have the Fried chicken and it was excellent as usual. My wife had the stuffed shrimp. They were not all that great. Small...in size and not plentiful. The walleye looked fantastic!More

I live nearby and love this place. The portions are very ample and reasonably priced. They're known for their fried chicken special on Wednesday nights, but their catfish is exceptional! You can get a whole catfish or two fillets. It's my favorite of any place...for catfish. Their coleslaw and fritters are amazing. And you can't walk by the dessert case and not salivate. Their cakes and pies are wonderful. Highly recommend it! The Warehouse, attached to Gil's, is very good too, and serves most of the same food that Gil's does. Their tenderloins are large and hand breaded. Burgers are great, and the pizza is excellent. Both great places to eat!More
