My wife wanted Mexican for her birthday and we took a chance on Jalisco because it had a good menu and good reviews. And it did not disappoint!!! Absolutely great food and spectacular service. The queso fondido with chorizo was one of the best I...have ever had. The tacos were awesome-fresh tortillas and great fillings (I had carnitas, lenqua, asada) and lived them! My wife enjoyed tacos and tamales, and my daughter loved the quesadilla. Clean and well decorated with great food and service, it was a wonderful experience.More

A group of friends and I went to Jalisco late night after a car show in Waukegan. It was roughly 11:30 p.m., near closing time, yet the food and service were still great. One of my favorite dishes/soups is pozole. I have eaten it all...over the USA and many, many times in Mexico, so my standard is high. But, I dare to say the pozole at Jalisco may have been the very best I have ever eaten. It was fantastic. Each of us enjoyed our meals...traditional Mexican food, served fast, hot, and in large portions. You can find good Mexican food all over Lake County, IL, but if I am in the area, I would definitely be a regular at Jalisco.More

Charming, colourful decor with customized leather booths and chairs. Food was tasty. Many vegetarian choices from an extensive menu. Refried beans are made with corn oil, not lard. If you're looking for a Six-Flags-Great-America-adjacent family restaurant, this would be a good choice. I always prefer...to support an independent business whenever I can. We were immediately served complimentary chips and three salsas -- two red and one green (tomatillo) with varying degrees of heat. Jalisco, if you're reading this -- the entrance is confusing and not customer friendly. We were not greeted. There's not an obvious or convenient place to wait until your table is ready. There's a lot of foot traffic at the front of the restaurant -- staff moving through; customers paying at the register; customers waiting to be seated. Also, the parking lot is not well designed. Be careful how/where you park.More

Very authentic Mexican Cuisine. Better to come here for the real deal. There is plenty to choose from on the menu so a variety of people can dine and find a dish they like. This was our second visit to this restaurant and we were...very disappointed with the wait staff in that we saw our hostess only twice and had to 'chase' her down for the check.More

We love Jalisco! Service is fantastic and quick, and the food is delicious. Their guacamole is perfect! We like to pack in a bunch of rides at Six Flags Great America early in the day, and then head to Jalisco for a late lunch or...early dinner. Highly recommended. Thank you, Jalisco, for the speedy and friendly service!More

The enchiladas, Chimichangas, cactus tacos and fajitas were awesome. Our waiter was polite, friendly and fast. The drinks and food were prepared and served very soon after ordering. Each dish was delicious as my wife and I ate from each other's plates. Plates were served...with Mexican rice, tossed salad and grated cheese on top of the refried beans. The dining room was contoured by El Rancho-styled upholstered banquet seats and tables with other tables and individual chairs in the center. The atmosphere enhanced the eating experience. Very good place to share authentic Mexican food with friends and family.More

The place looks fantastic, waiters are friendly until you order. Then they don't get you napkins limes or a beer refill. Then the waitress said ill be right back bbut never returned until she returned with the check. The food was good and everything smelled...great but it could be better. I'm going to try and visit on less busy day and see how it goes.More
