Great affordable Thai lunch!!!

Delightful little place. The lunch menu was affordable and gave choices of appetizer and soups which was a blessing. The food was tasty. We all ate every bit and it was the perfect size for lunch, not too big, not too small. Definitely will be back when we are in the area. Pleasant server/hostess and nice relaxing atmosphere. Well Done Lovely Thai!

Amazing Food and Friendly Service

I have been to Lovely Thai for lunch a few times dine with friends and take out and consider it a treat each time. Food is prepared with care and I take my time eating to make it last. I just started eating Thai and have moved from Pad Thai to most of the curry dishes, spring rolls, chive appetizers and Thai Iced Tea. I can't wait to try more. Fast and friendly service.

Favorite Thai Restaurant

I don’t normally post reviews but need to post how much my husband and I love Lovely Thai. My husband is a picky eater and most places don’t impress him but Lovely Thai is one of absolutely favorite places to order from. I am almost certain I’ve tried everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I would be perfectly happy eating here every day. Not to mention the big portions and friendly staff.

Really good pork basil on noodles and tom yum soups.

Really good pork basil on noodles. Nice portion. Had for lunch and dinner. Friendly pickup service. Got tom yum veggie soup for a friend. Also really good. Huge portion. Highly recommend.

One of the best Pad Thai's I've ever had -- just wish it had a lime included. They are not opened for in-house dining -- I ordered over the phone

Very disappointing

During this whole stay at home mandate, my husband and I try to order dinner out weekly. This week we tried Lovely Thai. We ordered two appetizers- the egg rolls and the crab Rangoon. The egg rolls were good- not totally filled with cabbage which was good. The crab Rangoon was different than we have experienced before. It had a crispy coating which we didn’t care for and was primarily cream cheese- no crab that we could detect. My husband had the sweet sour entree with pork which he said was good. I ordered the duck k over rice with veggies. The vegetables were crispy - which I like. The duck was not dry- but- tasted as though it had been refrigerated for some time- not fresh. I know ordering duck can be risky , however, we ordered on a Saturday night. Knowing there re. Higher volume of orders I would expect it to be very fresh. We would not order from here again.

This is my suburban go to for Thai. The staff have always been nice. The food is always appropriately hot or cold The prices are reasonable for Illinois.

The best Thai food ever

Love this place. Family owned with Friendly atmosphere. Great food including many noodle dishes and. curries. Luncheon specials are a great value. We keep coming back.

new owners since my last visit

I have to admit it's been years since I went to Lovely Thai, so I don't know when the current owners took over. I'm glad I went. The food and service was terrific, even though they were very busy. I had a terrific curry dish and a huge order of fried rice. I will definitely be back!

We came on a recommendation, and were delighted we did. The Mama combo is a definite, since it provides an array of appetizers. Also the sweet rice with mango is a must - delicious. The pad thai noodles are narrower than normal, and a bit dry, but if you use the satay peanut sauce it is perfect. People are friendly, and helpful. We had a carry out order that took less than 10 minutes. And the restaurant was busy even though it was 3 pm. Make it a stop even if you haven't tried thai food.

Love the basil entree with chicken. So so flavorful! Not very spicy so you need to ask for more spice and heat. Tom Ka soup very good too. Not a lot to look at inside, but nice service and a fair price. Fantastic lunch special. Worth a visit !

I came in excited to eat Thai but they only have 1 server so I had to leave very disappointed as I waited and waited and the server was just too busy ☹

Great Thai Food

First, Lovely thai is under new ownership and now this place is great!! Not only are the new owners very nice, but they make really good Thai food. The curry puffs are my favorite and they come with a little cucumber salad that is very refreshing. Second to this is their Rama Noodles - if you like the Satay peanut sauce then this is the dish for you!! They also offer a really nice lunch menu with loads of choices! Try this place you will not be disappointed!

Nice choice for a Thai food lunch

We have visited a few times. The food has been consistently good. However, the "lunch special" price seems to go up each time we've been there. They charge extra for several protein/meat choices. The soup is fine, but a bit light on flavor. The food heat/spice suggestions have not been consistent. Believe it when they say Thai hot - and even the next category isn't any less hot/spicy. So yes, this IS the place to get some spicy Thai! My main complaint is that the servings aren't very generous. Perhaps that's their way of getting you to order dessert (which I have not.) So the food/price value is just average.
