We love visiting Geneva and specifically paid a visit to Preservation Bread & Wine after seeing the restaurant on the Chicagoland show Check Please! Bravo. One of my coworkers and I decided that this restaurant would be on the top of our lists for a visit. The server was very knowledgable about the wines, which was quite helpful, when the wine we wanted was unavailable. There were two distinct dining areas, front and back. We were seated in the back, since the front was filled.... More

This is one of my son's favorite places (He's 17). Their tomato bacon soup is excellent, and their sandwiches are a treat, too. Highly recommended!

...but if were bigger, it would lose some of its charm. I live within walking distance of this restaurant and when I'm in the mood to eat great food and drink great wine in a cozy atmosphere, this is my first choice. Check in with Lawrence as soon as you get there; excellent wine selection reasonably priced; menu features very... More

While visiting over the holidays, I took my mother who lives in the area out for lunch based on a recommendation from the TV show "Check Please." It turned out of be a lovely afternoon. The staff was friendly in greeting and attentive with both explaining the menu and service in general. The menu was inventive and seemed to rotate... More

On Saturday night my 10 year old son and my husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. This was our first visit. Our server was very patient with all our questions. I had a wonderful glass of Bordeaux selected from their extensive wine list. The three of us shared a cheese plate as an appetizer before our meal. I... More

Great place for a glass of wine and cheese board. Quite expensive if you want a bottle and dinner. Small and intimate, not for families. Some small, unique dishes that are more appetizer size.

I have been to Preservation Bread and Wine with girlfriends and really enjoy the upscale apps and wine. Friendly staff and cozy atmposphere. Would recommend calling ahead as it does get crowded.

We visited the restaurant after an airing on Check Please and were disappointed. The staff and owner were friendly enough, but the food was just average. I had one of my favorites, chicken pot pie. It was s scoop or two of chicken and vegetables put in a fancy dish with a square pie crust placed on top. Absolutely tasteless.... More

Love the range of small plate choices and the amazing, wide-reaching wine menu. Wow! The owner and the wait staff are so knowledgeable about the foods and wines - they truly enjoy guiding your experience with their insights, if you choose to ask them. Great vegetarian options as well as other mainstream choices. Everything was fresh, delicious and well flavored.... More
