Good recreation of an Irish pub. Excellent selection of whiskey. Food was good, nothing extraordinary. Service was excellent.

We visited here for dinner on a VERY cold Sunday evening. Crowd was low. I ordered the burger, my husband ordered the shepherd's pie. Both were very good, but I thought the burger was top notch. The waitress seemed to be the only one working and was very attentive to the 3-4 tables that were full. The large screen tv... More
We had a fun time at Frank O'Dowd's on two separate occasions. Both times we went in for drinks and were served promptly by friendly staff. The interior makes you feel like you've walked into a bit of Ireland and there are plenty of tables. On Friday and Saturday nights in January they have live music starting at 7:30pm. The... More
We stopped in for dinner. It was Jan 2nd so there was really no one else in the place. Bartender/Server was very nice and the food came out quickly but it was tasteless. I got the fish and chips and it didn't have any flavor. Neither did the cheese curds we ordered for appetizer.
We stopped in for a few drinks and some entertainment since it was New Year's Eve. Place was not full at all and the only entertainment they had was a lady with her guitar and not best vocals (nicely put ). I know some will say - you don't have to be there if you don't like it - and... More
The atmosphere here is loud and fun. There is live music and it is a very large place. Limited number of drink options for such a large bar. However if you are into Irish beers this would be a good place for you. We ordered dinner on New Year's Eve, and it came out quickly. However it wasn't that great.... More
This was our first time to Frank O'Dowds. We had a wonderful time. We decided to be "traditional" and I had the Shepherds Pie and my wife had Fish 'n Chips. Both very good and reasonably priced and better than the NY Strip my daughter insisted on. We were entertained by local young Irish dancers and a vocalist. A very... More
We enjoyed great food and music in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Staff was friendly as well. It was the perfect place to warm up at the end of a cold day.

We will be in the Galena area on 1/20-1/22/17. Wondering if there is entertainment at your pub that weekend?
1. Do the Irish dancers perform right in the restaurant (in view while dining?)
2. Is there a cover charge for Katie Sullivan on September 12?
