I chose the wrong meal because the fish and chips was horrible. The chips had been sitting somewhere for so long they were soggy. The fish was very tough. It may have been hand-breaded there but it definitely wasn't fresh fish. My husband had the shepherd's pie and said it was delicious. We enjoyed watching the young ladies and their... More

We read about the entertainment, so made plans to dine at Frank O'Dowds the Friday night we were in Galena. The food was great, Miss Kathy our waitress was great. Some young girls from the area did a fun set of Irish Dance, they were in full costume, it was very fun. Following that, Garrett Hillary took the stage. He... More

Probably 20 graduates from the great Class of 1967 from St. Clara Academy, Sinsinawa spent 2-3 nights at the Irish Cottages. We partied loudly and long Friday night in a great atmosphere...Frank O'Dowd's....the Irish dancers were very good and the music group was great...not too loud or obtrusive. The weekend breakfast buffets were original, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. I... More

When to see a musical group that was appearing at the pub. I was more than surprised at the number of beers on their list as well as the freshness of the Guinness. Whenever you get to the way that you should stop in here and have a pint.

We made the mistake of not making a reservation for dinner but did experience the pub during breakfast and for a pint. Great place to feel you are in Ireland. The must have Guiness along with other craft beers.

This very authentic looking Irish Pub is attached to the Irish Cottage Hotel and very friendly. Great Valley views, great drink selections, and adequate bar fare. Live entertainment on weekends.

We had a great bartender over the weekend while staying at the hotel. The corned beef sandwich was ok.

My daughters and I stay at the Irish Cottage where this pub is. It was so nice after a day of antiquing to come to the pub and listen to live music and unwind. The service was friendly and very good. The food was good, your average pub fare. The live music was great. We very much enjoyed it.

The food, drinks and atmosphere takes you to another place in time. My Guiness was poured correctly and tasted delicious. We shared the Irish nachos and loved them. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. We appreciated the scrolling Ireland scenery on the big screen. Our experience made us want to come back on another trip through the area.
