There is no place I'd rather be on a Thursday than Caffee de Luca with my Martini's and the best server, Jacinto!
They serve the best Martini's I've ever had and Happy Hour is to die for! Oh yeah, the food and atmosphere is pretty...good too!
Try this place once, I guarantee you'll be back...at least for Happy Hour! Cheers!More
We visited Caffe de Luca for a quick dinner on a Sunday evening, with no reservation. We got a table with no problem. The restaurant was about 75% filled. I had the salmon special and it was delicious. It had a lemon caper cream sauce...with Parmesan-crusted mashed potatoes and Julienned mixed vegetables. It was really, really good. My wife had the Braciola, and it was good as well. Drinks were not watered down. We’ll certainly go back!More
My wife and I went to a restaurant that we had not visited for some years. It is on Madison street two blocks west of Harlem Avenue. We went there because we remembered how romantic the atmosphere was and because it had great Italian food....We were very pleased with the menu. We started with a sausage and peppers appetizer. It was delicious, much more than we could eat so we took half of it home. We shared an entree titled Chicken de Luca. It was also wonderful and we took some of it home also. We are in our golden years and portions are to big for us to eat the whole thing. Since we are not as active as we use to be the calories tend to stick with us. This is why we share entrees. It works for us and we keep the check in check. Except that when you serve wine by the glass and the price is $9.50 a glass, it tends to increase the amount of the check. So for one appetiser, one entree, one soda, and three glasses of wine the bill shot up to almost ninety dollars. We go to many restaurants that have great food, but their wine is less costly. Why go to a restaurant with expensive prices on average wine when we can go to equally good restaurants with wine at two and a half or three dollars less.
If you want to go to a great restaurant with wonderful food, a great waitstaff, romantic atmosphere and expensive wine by the glass, Cafe de Luca is the place to go.
We will probably wait for a couple of years before we go back.More
Being form the East Coast I'm somewhat hesitant to get seafood 1000 miles away. However, I was pleasantly surprised with DeLuca's and had one of the best Italian meals. Sea Scallops, shrimp in a red clam sauce was truly delicious. Will definitely be back...
Very nice rustic Italian decoration in the main restaurant area of Forest Park on Madison. Right across the street from the public parking lot with the fountain. Lots of things on the menu are nice. Pasta, pizza, panini - all done well. Very good espresso...machine for cappuccinos, etc. Highly recommended.More
We had dinner on a week night. The restaurant was not very busy. A gentleman was
playing soft ballads on an accordion. The service was excellent. The food was good
but not great. We had chopped chicken salad and braciola.
