This restaurant is consistently excellent. My husband & I have dined here when we visit our adult kids who live in Chicago and Forest Park. My Caprese Insulata de Lucca was a gorgeous presentation and a hearty meal with the added delicious grilled chicken. My...husband's entree was a special Blackened Salmon twice the expected portion and delicious. Kids ordered the Gnocchi w/ Tomato Cream Sauce and Truffle Gnocchi entree, both very good. We split 2 desserts that were portioned just right: a Triple Chocolate and a Caramel-topped Custard. The large door to the outside was open on a beautiful evening.More

Art and Michelle Sundry put their hearts and souls into establishing Caffe de Luca in Forest Park as one of the finest Italian restaurants in the Chicago area. Located at 7427 Madison Street, east of Des Plaines Avenue, west of Harlem, it offers classic Italian...and American dishes in an Old World venue that oozes with charm and vitality. The first floor reminds of an outdoor cafe with Italian lamps, belt-operated ceiling fans, serpentine bar and banquette seating. A staircase with wrought iron rails leads to the second floor with its large skylight, suspended Venetian lanterns, indoor/outdoor fireplace and rooftop terrace. But it's the food that keeps you coming back for more. My wife and I started with grilled garlic shrimp with grilled asparagus and lemon herb vinaigrette, minestrone, smoked salmon carpaccio with shaved fennel, capers, lemon vinaigrette, goat cheese and crostini and Classic Caesar salad with romaine lettuce, home-made croutons, shaved parmesan and classic Caesar dressing. For an entree, my wife chose lamb osso buco, a braised lamb shank with parmesan mashed potatoes, vegetables and demi-glace. I opted for the surf and turf, a six-ounce filet and grilled shrimp with parmesan mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and demi-glace. For dessert, we shared an apple tart with three scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Caffe de Luca is open from noon to 9 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 10 on Friday and Saturday and 10 to 9 on Sunday.More

There is no place I'd rather be on a Thursday than Caffee de Luca with my Martini's and the best server, Jacinto! They serve the best Martini's I've ever had and Happy Hour is to die for! Oh yeah, the food and atmosphere is pretty...good too! Try this place once, I guarantee you'll be back...at least for Happy Hour! Cheers!More

We visited Caffe de Luca for a quick dinner on a Sunday evening, with no reservation. We got a table with no problem. The restaurant was about 75% filled. I had the salmon special and it was delicious. It had a lemon caper cream sauce...with Parmesan-crusted mashed potatoes and Julienned mixed vegetables. It was really, really good. My wife had the Braciola, and it was good as well. Drinks were not watered down. We’ll certainly go back!More

My wife and I went to a restaurant that we had not visited for some years. It is on Madison street two blocks west of Harlem Avenue. We went there because we remembered how romantic the atmosphere was and because it had great Italian food....We were very pleased with the menu. We started with a sausage and peppers appetizer. It was delicious, much more than we could eat so we took half of it home. We shared an entree titled Chicken de Luca. It was also wonderful and we took some of it home also. We are in our golden years and portions are to big for us to eat the whole thing. Since we are not as active as we use to be the calories tend to stick with us. This is why we share entrees. It works for us and we keep the check in check. Except that when you serve wine by the glass and the price is $9.50 a glass, it tends to increase the amount of the check. So for one appetiser, one entree, one soda, and three glasses of wine the bill shot up to almost ninety dollars. We go to many restaurants that have great food, but their wine is less costly. Why go to a restaurant with expensive prices on average wine when we can go to equally good restaurants with wine at two and a half or three dollars less. If you want to go to a great restaurant with wonderful food, a great waitstaff, romantic atmosphere and expensive wine by the glass, Cafe de Luca is the place to go. We will probably wait for a couple of years before we go back.More

Being form the East Coast I'm somewhat hesitant to get seafood 1000 miles away. However, I was pleasantly surprised with DeLuca's and had one of the best Italian meals. Sea Scallops, shrimp in a red clam sauce was truly delicious. Will definitely be back...

Very nice rustic Italian decoration in the main restaurant area of Forest Park on Madison. Right across the street from the public parking lot with the fountain. Lots of things on the menu are nice. Pasta, pizza, panini - all done well. Very good espresso...machine for cappuccinos, etc. Highly recommended.More

Jacinto was great to work with for a group lunch of 23. We had the upstairs party room all to ourselves. We preordered off the menu and they had the food ready for us super fast! It was delicious too.

We had dinner on a week night. The restaurant was not very busy. A gentleman was playing soft ballads on an accordion. The service was excellent. The food was good but not great. We had chopped chicken salad and braciola.

Yesterday we attended sons sports game right at dinner time so we’re famished on the drive home to Oak Park...searching for food and wine and really in no mood to go home and cook. We parked downtown Forest Park and right across the street found...welcoming Caffe de Luca. Cozy, intimate, and wine bottles half off Tuesday and Wednesday. Our server Omar was attentive and friendly. Brought us bread and crackers with olive oil and shredded cheese....aah....so easy to relax with wine, bread and cheese! We shared the polenta calamari and a Napoli pizza, and still had some pizza to take home. Both were delicious. Caffe de Luca is one of our new favorite go to restaurants.More

We were invited to a birthday party at this restaurant. If you like fine Italian food this is a place for you (as long as you don't mind asparagus they put it on almost everything). The prices are a little on the high side, I...had what looked like the 2nd less expensive thing on the menu (mushrooms & rice with some gravy) and it was almost $12. Most of the rest of the dishes were upwards of $15 - $20+ dollars. They do have outdoor seating on the 2nd floor and in front of the building (in season of course).More

My son and I had lunch in their outside seating area. It was a sunny pleasant day. The service could not have been better. The food was excellent. I had the soup of the day which was very good. The one small criticism I have...was their coffee was warm and not hot. This may be a rare misstep but I doubt it. They were prompt with the bill. Overall the lunch was great!More
