Thinking we might have found a local gem, in regards to good food. But, left thinking it was a dive. Not over priced, but not worth a second stop when in Fairview.

I grew up on Chuck Wagon and still come back to town every once in a while and will eat here two days in a row just to satisfy my need for it! It is some of the best Mexican/American food I've ever had. I typically get the Super Tacos, which are deep fried and delicious! Not the healthiest, but... More

The best enchiladas anywhere. Family friendly. Very reasonably priced. Our favorite restaurant and first stop when we visit Belleville, IL from Ft Myers, FL

Best Mexican food that I have eaten north of the Red River. They also have super good curly fries that goes with their hamburgers.

To the people who complain about this place being overpriced: don't order 9 separate things. Order a plate of something and it will be much cheaper. The tacos are out of this world. I have been eating here for over twenty years and I have never had a bad meal. The restaurant is clean and full of nice people. Service... More

The BBQ pork sammich and the "Mexican Special Plate" are two of the repeat dishes we order every visit. Same-same, and that's a good thing 'cause when you are doing it right, you just don't mess with perfection. A great dive, a true hidden treasure

My grandfather ate here every day or at least had a cup of coffee and knew the owners very well. It is a little diner/dive type of place but I say that with a great deal of love. The nachos and other Mexican food dishes are great and they make a fantastic BBQ Pork Sandwich. As far as I know... More

The locals have kept this place in business for over 30 years. If you eat there once you will understand why. The large enchiladas with extra cheese and super tacos are both to die for. I have to go back every 3 or 4 weeks to get my fix.

Based on good reviews, decided to have lunch at the Chuck Wagon while visiting Fairview Heights. Unfortunately, reality did not live up to the hype. Although they warned us the plate was hot, tragically the food was not. Barely warm and quite bland except for an occasional bite of something spicy, it was only edible because we paid more than... This place hasn't changed a bit, since the 80's. But, that is not to say it's shabby. It's a very clean and well run establishment. The food is good. The servings sizes are generous. The price is reasonable, especially for the area. It is a great place to bring kids. The burgers are great. They're just greasy enough. As the... More
