They seem to have it all here…. From pizza by the slice to Mexican food to American favorites like burgers, dogs etc. Busy place and it took a while before my food arrived. I had a slice of the daily special which was bacon and onion - good crust and fairly tasty toppings. My pal really enjoyed his meat lovers special. I also had an order of 2 chicken tenders but they gave me 4 and they were very hot, tasty and meaty. Way too much food but around 10$ for the lot. Definitely worth returning to try other options… a good choice despite the lack of decor, etc.

Delicious, fast, and cheap. By the slice, if you want. Simple utilitarian decor. It's a line up, put in your order, get it, eat it, shut up, and leave, kind of place.

Although newer owners in the last 10 years I'm guessing??? ...the pizza is every bit as good as it used to be...fast friendly and reasonably clean. The advent of excellent Mexican food is a real plus, love their burritos and tacos too!

They didn't let me put my legs on the seat and their pizza is terrible I hate this restaurant alot even the service!!!!!!!!!

50-year-old American Dream story

In the mid-fifties, Julio Andino, newly arrived from Ecuador, started delivering pizzas for Gigio's. In 1980 he bought the business. the American dream, right? In 2014, it was sold to the 3rd owners in its 50-year history. Simple menu -- counter service -- plenty of seating -- street parking. Thin crust pizza (New York style) by the pie or the slice, sandwiches, hoagies, salads, "South of the Border" (tacos, burritos, etc.), sides, soup and chili. Beer is available from two of Evanston’s super-star craft breweries, Temperance and Sketchbook. Turns out Lake Michigan water is great for beer and ale

Celebrating 50 years of “Eh” food

Pizza is edible. Think Sabaros. There are so many places in the Chicago area to get great Mexican food. This is not one of them. Yuck.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD ATMOSPHERE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY!😄

I have eaten pizza there occasionally for five years. I only eat the sausage pizza. I love the thin, tasty crust, fresh meat, and sweet tomato sauce. There are other items on the menu. There is counter service only; the staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is small, tables available, but, no special ambiance. At lunch and dinner time, you are likely to encounter a crowd, with people waiting in line. After school hours, there are many, well-behaved teens. In the evenings and on weekends, families gather. During slower times, you can sit with family and friends and chat leisurely. This is a local institution. You can access Gigio's by the 205 bus from Howard Street, Chicago, IL city limits to the north. Check your sources for driving directions. There is street parking available.

Good Pizza Selection, Quick Eats

Local pizza shop with large selection of pizza by the slice. Appear to have a wide selection of other sandwiches, salads, etc. Neighborhood location, popular with locals and Northwestern University students and faculty. Sat near what were clearly two faculty members discussing research work! Pizza slices were large, tasty, and crust nice and crunchy. Wide beverage selection as well. Eat in or take out. Lots of tables if eating in.

Not a good experience

Bigger than the Gigio's in Uptown - Chicago, which was my first experience with Gigio's. This location gets more business as well, due to the area being more active + having a campus like Northwestern University near. Anyway; i compare my slice of pizza to eating a piece of toast! Crunchy, yes! Very! And slightly burnt! I would have rathered it being cold and soggy vs heated and burnt! For that; a regular yelper like me has to rate this place three stars instead of four! Im sure this Gigio's is a lot better than that, but sheesh! Luckily my teeth aren't weak, or I'd be toothless right now after eating that slice of pizza. Come on Gigio's; you can do better than that! My recommendation is to come early, so you can get the fresh slices, and not the heated up; burnt to toast slices. If you come during rush hour just order a full pizza instead, or cross your fingers that you get fresh slices instead of slices that need heated up.

Great place for a quick tasty lunch

This unpretentious restaurant is located just across the railroad tracks from my office It is a great place to go for a quick lunch So far I've had the Italian beef and the meatball sandwiches. Both are tasty and served in generous portions. Service is quick, if not effusively friendly.

Gluten free pizza

I got the gluten free pizza and it was delicious. It tastes exactly like regular pizza. I give it a 4/5. Lots of cheese and lots of sauce too. I think they should cut back a little bit on the sauce. I do recommend it and I will probably come back.

Great for a slice, and more...now with draft beer

I'm probably here every other week or so...very convenient to home/work, and also a great place for a slice or two or well-made, fresh pizza. Pequod's is my go-to for deep dish, but that's only every now and then. Gigio's is for always! I've also tried their soups and tamale's...quite good. They also added draft beer taps (two standards, two local craft beers) that are quite good. Love it!

No hello or hi! Just a wha do you want and they tell you how much! You give them money and thats it no thanks you or nothing! Very good pizza snd fries. Attitudes are horrible with employees!

My go to pizza place...and more

Amazing thin crust pizza. Hard to stray from sausage, as they make their own. Crust itself is extra yummy. And now they have beer on draft, and a selection of other foods (mostly Mexican). I'm probably here every other week.

Great pizza

Been here dozens if not more over years. One of the few places in Evanston or even Chicago you can guy pizza by the slice. This time is with my kids. Good as usual. Basic pizza fast. They now serve beer. Gone are the days of Evanston as a dry city. 😎
