Sensually satisfying food, spot-on service, and you can speak in your indoor voice! We had the pork belly appetizer (meaty and shareable), the gnocchi with garden-fresh vegetables (some raised on their roof), and the veal saltimbocca (which lived up to its mouth-watering name.) We shared a pecan tart a la mode too; everything was superb. The executive chef seated us... More

The food at Hearth is very good. Nice presentation, excellent flavors in good combinations. But the service needs some work. Two of us ordered soup as an appetizer course. Many places drop off a soup spoon before the soup is served. Others provide a soup spoon with the soup. Not here, unfortunately. We had to flag down a server (and... More

We travelled a long way to experience the food at Hearth Restaurant. Besides Wrigley Field, it was on our list of 'must experience' in Chicago. It was well worth the trip. The food was excellent, the atmosphere inviting, and all-in-all a wonderful experience. Hats off to the Chef!

Was there for a family dinner. Something on the menu for everyone. I have a food allergy and the staff was very attentive to making sure that everything was good. My daughter had the gnocchi which she loved. Two of our party had the hanger steak and liked it. I had the veal which was also very good. The chef... More

Hearth is Tucked inside of an older hotel a few blocks away from Northwestern campus. The chef really does special things. We had two meals and both were superb, well done traditional foods but with style and skill and a range of offerings from brunch creative offerings to wonderful dinners. I asked friends where I might want to eat in... More

We dined here for a family wedding rehearsal dinner. There were about 40 guests. We began with drinks on the pleasant front porch, then dinner in the main dining room. The food was EXCELLENT, the service impeccable and the selection just fine. What a great restaurant! I do't know how it is on a regular night but it was great... More

The Hearth is a real neighborhood gem nestled in streets of Evanston. Nice low key feel, the food is excellent. They feature very special crafted teas a little expensive but quite good. I started with a beautiful pork belly with veal glaze. pickled scallions. turnip purée. The short ribs are special with polenta. brussels sprouts. beef jus. cherry puree. We... More

I love Hearth because it is a little more cozy and quiet than some of the other fine dining establishments in Evanston. But the food is also terrific! Lovely little lounge is a great place to go for drinks, too.

We were pretty excited to try this place out for breakfast today. The service was good, the menu has a lot of interesting food items on it. I had the corn beef hash and unfortunately the egg was over cooked, the crab cake Benedict came out cold with overlooked eggs. So, I think I'm being generous with a 3 star... More

The Homestead on Hinman in Evanston is well-known for its style and grace and remains a classic in an ever-changing world. In a restaurant space that once was Trio, then Quince, both wonderful in their own ways now emerges Hearth. With wood topped tables, brick fireplace and warm-toned interior, the space is cozy and comfortable, more casual than its predecessors... More
