We love the ambience and we love the food selection and restaurant location: just in the middle of the city of Evanston.

We had lunch here today prior to visiting Northwestern. It is a Farm to Market place with decent variety. I had the Chicken Soup, which was very good,. and a good value at $6.5 a bowl. My wife and daughter had a salad and a...sandwich/soup combo respectively. Both said they enjoyed the food. Service was very good.More

We ate several meals here during our trip to Evanston, initially because it was about the only place open on Christmas day. We returned because the service was super friendly and helpful, and the food good.

The food was good, but the beer on tap was fun to ogle. Trying one of each wasn’t a wise idea, but I look forward to coming back for more!

Dinner starts at 5:00. We had reservations but were a bit early so we had drinks at our table. The menu is not expansive but there should be something for everyone. I had short ribs which were boneless and very good. My wife only had...the chicken soup which she liked. The other couple had a hamburger which got a good review and a salad selection, I missed what kind, but was the weak link of our choices. In addition we ordered bread, which was wonderful, and donut holes for dessert. The ambiance is nicely subdued and we were able to converse without problems. For those unfamiliar with Evanston, parking is strictly monitored so be forewarned.More

Stopped here for dinner while in the area. Had excellent service and we liked the atmosphere. Both of us enjoyed our food, which was really good! Neat place to eat at!

Attached to the Hilton this is a fun and convenient restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Not a huge menu but the food is great. Service is timely and attentive. Local/regional spirits from the bar and original cocktails. Not the best sound system in the house....Could use another tv for the “game” but regardless a welcoming and comfortable spot.More

If you’re looking for delicious and original Midwestern cuisine, this is the place! Farmhouse works with local farmers and growers to bring the freshest local produce, meats and dairy to each dish. As you peruse the menu, you’ll notice the food source is listed next...to the dish, which is nice. We decided to share several of the dishes, which was a wise choice as many of the selections sounded too delicious to pass up! Dishes included the Farmhouse salad, hummus with lamb, chicken thighs, baked mac-n-cheese, and the house made pickled jar. Although the portions were generous enough to share among the three of us, we left room to enjoy the maple poached apple bread pudding and ice cream. All was delicious! The Farmhouse also offers a wide selection of crafted beers and they make their own hard cider. The wait staff are friendly and service is excellent. The menu often changes based on available ingredients so returns trips are suggested! Highly recommend a visit.More

We have enjoyed our several visits here, so much so that it is a standard destination for our family when in Evanston. Food quality overwhelms any "too precious" sense of knowing too many details of your dinner's backstory. Even when I have decided "I don't...need to try that dish again," I am also thinking "but I'm glad I tried it." We can recommend breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and cocktails.More

Chili is one of the things that I compare restaurants with. Their chili had a heat index of 3.5 and the chili itself 6.5. I asked for hot sauce. They brought to me one I had never had before. It had Habanaro and chocolate. It...was wonderful . It brought the chili up to 8.0. I had a chopped salad that was a little bland. I add the hot sauce andf it made it much more interesting. The waiter, Mat was friendly and willing to answer my questions. It is attached to The Hilton so it is a little out of my price range. It is a star for Evanston. In Chicago it would be a beryl.More
