This is a solid restaurant with good food and service. There just wasn't anything that stood out about it for me to rate it better than average.

A flight of red to pair with a really extraordinary rack of lamb. Indulgent - maybe, but it over the top excellent. Worth noting that this was a business dinner, and our party was there for at least 2 hours. No pressure and great service throughout.
We went with a party of 8 on parent's weekend at Northwestern. Our daughter hadn't heard of the restaurant even though it was about three blocks from her residence. She correctly said that it would either be awful or too pricey for students. I am glad to report that it is the latter. The pear salad was fabulous. My filet... More
This is probably the most consistent fine dining restaurant in Evanston. The space is cozy, the service professional and mostly helpful, and the preparations are inventive but well-balanced. The wine selections, especially for the various flights, are quite good too. The menu often features tuna in both appetizer and main forms, as well as other seasonal fish, in addition to... More
Although this restaurant appears to be a favorite with many people, my friend and I both thought it was pretentious and overpriced both for the wine and the meals we had. I had a special fish dish which was expensive and not that great nor satisfying. It is not a restaurant that I would visit again. The atmosphere is pleasant... More
Food is excellent, great wine selection. Great for a drink at the bar after work or an special couple's evening
Before attending an eerie magic event at the Charles Gates Dawes House, we found this lovely restaurant via Trip Advisor. Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! Apps are included Pumpkin gnocchi with kale, cranberries and ricotta; German fingerling potato salad. Entrees - Australian Rack of Lamb with mint pesto and Parmesan white truffle creme boiler. Amish chicken with parsnip puree,... More
A great experience..Rack of Lamb was plentiful and so tasty. Filet with mushrooms special next time! Had the Cabernet was great also. A delicious designer cappuccino after made by our own outstanding waiter.
The food was really good. For a wine bar I found the wines by the glass just ok. The service started strong but ended really weak. And for whatever reason the lights kept flickering which took away from what otherwise would have been a lovely atmosphere. But I'm gonna go with 4 stars because the food was delicious.
Fantastic dinner! The ambiance, the food, the wine - and the service all exceeded our expectations. Very impressive for Evanston!
