I have been going to Hunan for over 20 years, they have the best chicken fried rice as i don't like mine overly greasy. I ALWAYS order the chicken and rice soup when i am under the weather and it is the best thing ever!...i really enjoy the Mongolian beef and would order that every time i go.More
My family and I ate here this week and loved it. Spicy beef fried rice was delicious. Crab ragoons were very good. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!
You can't beat the price for lunch. Including the meal, tax, tea, and tip ... $7. The problem - it still wasn't worth it. Don't get me wrong, the "palace" is pretty comfortable, better than East Wind down the block, but I was really disappointed...with the food. I ordered the Hunan Beef, which, based on the name of the restaurant, should be their signature meal. I don't remember ever getting a tomato sauce as the base of this dish!? It's not at all what I expected. On top of that, it was exceedingly bland, even though I asked for it extra spicy. I really hate giving poor reviews, but if you're over in this area looking for Asian food, you may be better off driving down the street to Nathan's Noodles. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. I really like this place. I pretty much only get the mongolian beef, but it's that good that i don't care to try anything else since i know it's going to be delicious. Staff is friendly, prices are reasonably. this lunch i'm eating right now...was 5.75 and i'm just about full with a little left to go. eat here. have fun. enjoy life one chopstick at a time.More
