Friends in Chicago's western suburbs tipped us off to Parkers' Restaurant & Bar in Downers Grove. They are regulars and are especially impressed with the fresh seafood and live piano entertainment. Located at 1000 31st Street, south of I-88 on Highland Avenue, Parkers' features a...150-seat dining room, mosaic tiled open kitchen and a 50-seat bar and cocktail lounge with a wood vaulted ceiling and fireplace. It is an elegant, upscale setting and executive chef Eddie Jobin tops it all off with a superb menu of fresh seafood, juicy steaks and unique desserts. "The very best of land and sea" is the restaurant's motto and if you enjoy fish, mussels, lobster, clams, scallops and shrimp, this is the place. During the pandemic, Parkers' is closed to indoor dining until DuPage County mandates are lifted. It is open for carryout, curbside pickup and delivery from 4 to 8 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 4 to 9 on Friday and Saturday. My wife and I ordered a Colossal Shrimp Cocktail with wild Pacific brown shrimp, Caesar salad and shrimp and lobster bisque. For an entree, my wife chose charcoal grilled Faroe Island salmon with rice and grilled asparagus. I opted for Cedar Plank Roasted Lake Superior Whitefish with whipped potato and sauteed garlic spinach. For dessert, we shared a big slice of key lime pie with graham cracker crust, Italian meringue and raspberry sauce and a plate of white chocolate and apricot croissant bread pudding with vanilla bean sauce and strawberry gelato.More

We've been going here for years and have always had good service and great food. All of the food is very good and we like the crab cakes there. Service is always helpful and enjoy the live entertainment in the bar. Great bar area and...a nice place to have a family get together in one of their party rooms. Oh yeah the lobster rolls are crazy good. Nice ambiance. Support your local restaurants during this pandemic. You will want to make reservations.More

Wonderful evening at Parkers on the patio! Yes, I know they were not responsible for the weather, but it was a perfect night with wine and the best food! Let's start with dessert! The key lime pie was decadent and delicious. The plate was decorated...with fruit and the presentation was stunning! I had the absolute best piece of fish on a cedar plank with crispy edges that were pure heaven. The patio was cozy and private since our chairs were miles away from everyone! We watched everything being cleaned spic and spam as people left. Even the door knobs were constantly cleaned!More

My wife took me there for my B-day, and it was a quite nice. Food, in quality, presentation, and quantity was terrific. Our server was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, and her suggestions for a main course, desert and wine pairing were spot on.

Waited 10 minutes before a waiter showed up to even take a drink order. Our waiter seemed lost and lacked customer focused. Might’ve been new as he almost needed to be told what to do. Poor service and experience

Very good seafood. Had the sea bass special and clam chowder. Both were excellent and fresh. The clam chowder was not real thick which I really like. The sea bass was well seasoned. Gelato was just average as was the service. Only complaint was several...gnats were buzzing our table all night.More
