My wife and I tried this restaurant recently. We had eaten at the previous Mexican restaurant at this location and enjoyed. Then it either changed ownership or management and we stopped going as the food just wasn't that good and prices were too high. We had heard that someone else was running the place and we decided to give it another try. We are definitely happy we did. When we arrived and looked over the menu, that took some time as it was completely new with different items than the traditional Mexican restaurants we visit. Because it was different items than we typically get we were nervous that it might not be to our liking. We were completely wrong. The food was absolutely delicious. There was so much food on the dishes we ordered and again it was so good. This is was added as one of our favorite restaurants in Bloomington/Normal. This place is completely better than all of the expensive/fancy Mexican restaurants in town. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I usually dont repeat reviews, especially quickly but just wanted to give these guys a shout out again, especially with the new management. Trip advisor still has the old sign up from when it was just a branch office for Guadalajara, this is good stuff

This is sort of hidden over by Millikan university. The restaurant has been in this location for a while. It used to be owned by the same people that own Guadalajara in south shores. I don’t believe that is the case anymore.

Always Special...and Fun!

An afternoon of margaritas, chips, and salsa! Splendid. A fun server and a perfect time. Then the chile relleno, tamales, tacos...and more margaritas and chips...we were happy! We always love this place. Great food, great drinks, great laid-back service that we like...taking our time and relishing each bite and sip. Highly recommend.......

This is actually the best Mexican I've had in Decatur, but that's not saying much. But definitely, when we're visiting our daughter at Millikin University again, we'll think about coming here.

Average food, terrible service

I don't go here often because every time I go the service is terrible. Decided to give it another shot. After finding someone to get us seated we waited a few minutes without any menus...which I ended up getting from the hostess stand. The food was decent but certainly nothing special.

Above average margs but poor service

We enjoyed the jumbo margarita special on a Friday evening ($5.99, strawberry is good). This was the highlight. The chips were stale and salsa was rather boring. Guac was too creamy for our taste and we added salt/pepper for taste. The entrees were okay, but I had to ask three separate servers for water. Atmosphere was fun, and clearly is a neighborhood go-to. Getting the check and paying was tough, took rather long. Maybe an off night? Would try again - but not for awhile.

Our favorite for Mexican!

This is our most frequently visited Mexican restaurant. Food is always wonderful! Service has lagged a little lately...friendly, but slower than it used to be. Prices increased a little when they remodeled, but still reasonable.

OK But Somewhat Lacking

Really popular place.....lots of large groups of college students when we were there. Chips were OK, Salsa was good, queso was OK. We had fajitas and tacos. Chicken was plentiful.....onions and peppers were not cooked completely, which sometimes is OK but didn't work so well here. The sides were a bit odd to us....very little cheese....it was kinda like a small spoonful melted into the refried beans......no shredded cheddar at all.....and we were asked if we wanted guac.....I sure didn't see any on any of the plates so don't know what that was all about. Service was very friendly and prompt. They were busy and easily handling everyone. Prices were pretty average.

Good enough for quick mex.

Unfortunately, with the plethora of Mexican and Chinese restaurants, it's hard to find a place that stands out above the crowd anymore. Most establishments cater to Americans diets of how much for how little. While this is an o.k. place to eat, I can't rate it 5-star. Still waiting for a true, authentic gourmet Mexican restaurant to grace Decatur.

Good variety of Mexican Food

We love to go to Mi Pueblito as our second go to Mexican food place. They have a wide variety of food on their menu and some dishes that other places do not have. Mi Pueblito would be our first place, but we have a Mexican restaurant just down the street, and this one is across town. But it is never forgotten from our minds.

Our Default Mexican Place

Decatur native. We eat here frequently. Its your standard Mexican joint. The staff is always friendly and service is usually quick. I like the arroz con pollo.
