We have had meals here often but tonight was disappointing. My wife had her usual and I tried a selection from the touted "new items" menu. Our orders have arrived quickly in the past but seemed longer this time. My order finally arrived and the...first bite was great however the second was cold and the chicken seemed frozen. I alerted our waitress who apologized and I asked for the same order as my wife. The waitress brought my 2nd order and apologized again and mentioned the manager chuckled when he said "How could it be cold when it was on the grill"? In my opinion the original order had been refrigerated and only seen the inside of a microwave due to some splatter plus the edges were warm but the middle cold - very cold. I did not want to make a big deal or scene, just wanted dinner and to be on our way. We told the manager once again at the register about our cold meal and he printed our receipt with the price swapped for the "substituted" meal. Not a single apology, "here's a $5 off your next meal cooupon" or thank you, just "Have a good evening." I wasn't looking for a free meal, handout or anything other than good customer service/relations. One reason we stopped here tonight was to discuss a catering opportunity with them but we will now consider other options. As I said, disappointing.More
Can not get enough Pollo Loco. Chicken (generous portion) with rice and tortilla mixings. Guacamole lettuce tomato onion for stuffing. Reasonably priced.
This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in Decatur. I'm not sure what has happened but the service has been terrible the last few times I've been there. The food was very average.
We love this place. I can't say if it's authentic or not, but I can tell you that the food is excellent. It's hard for me not to order my favorite because everything is wonderful. Lunch portion always sends me away full and satisfied. We...always have great service, too.More
Good service and yummy Mexican food! Enjoy going back time after time. Even on Cinco de Mayo, the staff was still friendly and were doing their best to keep up with the massive crowd.
Chips and salsa style cheap Mexican food. Opt for grilled chicken or steak instead of ground beef. It cost a little more but skipping the greasy beef will save your stomach later on. My 2 toddlers and I easily split the aroz con polo on...our last visit.More
Recent visit to this restaurant was our first experience. We met up with relatives for one of their daughters birthday celebration. We were in a party of 12 that ranged from 8 months to 66 years old. The fare was similar to Carlos O'Brians, Carlos...O'Kelly's, etc. Much like the two other Carlos restaurants the food is not totally authentic but none-the-less quite good. With a large group to feed the service was surprisingly fast and courteous. If you are in need of a Mexican fix you couldn't go wrong stopping in here.More
We had never tried Guadalajara before so last week's lunch was our first visit. The food is very good and the waitstaff is phenomenal! We enjoyed our visit so much we went back this week! They are speedy & cheerful & caring!!!
Everything from the fajitas, burritos and tacos were great tasting and very larger portions. Service was great as well. Will probably never travel that road again but it was a very successful find and a great meal.
Great food, excellent service, and served up fast! One of our favorite Mexican restaurants, not only in Decatur, IL, but other places, too. Wonderful fried ice cream if you have room for dessert!

I was so excited for some good food tonight with my wife and some friends. What a huge dissapointment! This place sure has gone downhill since my last visit a few years ago. The waitress was busy, and I will cut her a little slack,...but she was also hard of hearing and kept saying "huh?" While we were ordering. I asked about beer specials and ordered a couple, as well as dinner. My chile relleno was barely cooked. I couldn't cut it with a fork and had to saw it with a knife like a raw bell pepper. I couldn't finish it - awful. I complained and ahe said she wasn't sure what they were supposed to be like. I told her I've had hundreds of them. When she came back for my plate, I asked what the kitchen said, and she said the chef just blew her off. I told her it was the worst I've ever had. She ended up giving my wife a free drink to make up for my bad food (?), and told me not to tell anyone. That didn't make me any less hungry. Then I got overcharged for the beers! I went home mad, hungry, and feeling ripped off. My biggest concern? What kind of a place would punish the waitress for trying to right a wrong? Why would she get in trouble for that? On its current course, this place will not last long.More
