The Beach House is one of our favorite restaurants in Decatur and so we chose it to celebrate our brother-in-law's birthday. We were a party of six. We were greeted and seated quickly and soon had our drinks. It seems as though all six of...us had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a new dish, the shrimp boil. It was excellent, probably my favorite meal at the Beach House ever. I had two more meals with the leftovers. Yum! My friends are living in Pakistan and visiting family in the area. We randomly chose Beach house for the view. The chef Kasey made jambalaya especially for us for lunch. The jambalaya and gumbo were fabulous. Eddie was an amazing waiter. Friendly, attentive and fun....We will be back!More

We really loved sitting out on the patio and enjoying the view, if only our food could have been better. Our group had the oysters Rockefeller which was basically artichoke dip on oysters then topped with a lot of cheese and baked under a broiler/salamander....We didn’t even finish the 6 that came with the order. I had Shrimp scampi. Once again, it arrived looking great. Loaded with shrimp. Tasted mediocre at best. Husband had house salad and double steak medallions. Very poor cut of meat. Our friend had the Caesar and salmon. Salmon was perhaps the best meal of the night. Large piece of salmon and it was prepared above average. Great service, but attention to flavor and food preparation would have made it a go back to restaurant for us.More

We have been fans of the Beach House for years, but moved away and hadn't eaten there for a few years. The building is still very nice and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food is barely edible. My husband and I had burgers,...calamari and 2 desserts tonight none of which was exceptional.More

We had our son's graduation party there. The place was decorated beautifully and the food was delicious. This is also a great place to sit and enjoy a relaxing meal outdoors!!

We like going here, nice atmosphere, food is usually good, service is good and they try to be an upscale but still casual place. Tonight was a little too casual IMO. All he waitresses had yoga pants on. And o ur waitress had short yoga...pants so she could show off the large tatoo on her thigh. Maybe I'm old fashoned, but I do not was to see ASS CRACK while I am having dinner! Not appropriate for even a casual diner. Yoga pants belong at the gym, not at a place where dinner for 2 is typically $80 to $100. And my salmon was over cooked.More

Great little work retirement party at the outside bar overlooking the marina and water. Tasty appetizers and drinks. Service was good.

This was our first "date night" since Covid began and the choice of where to go was easy: The Beach House! We had reservations and were quickly seated at a table with a view of Lake Decatur. (Hands down, this is the best dining view...in Decatur!) Soon after being seated our server, Jessica, took our drink and appetizer orders. Our appetizer was the shrimp cocktail: Five large and perfectly-cold shrimp on an icy platter and served with a spicy cocktail sauce. A perfect match for our martinis! Mrs. M had the tilapia dinner. The very generous portion was perfectly cooked with a drizzle of Alfredo sauce. It came with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Total yum! I had the shrimp delish: two kinds of shrimp, 8 breaded and 8 grilled, over noodles. Yet another perfect meal! We loved our meals, our server and the awesome atmosphere of the Beach House! Note: Both meals were too big to finish. We just had the leftovers today and they are as good as they were last night!More

We decided to come here based off the reviews. The food was cooked as we had asked and was served in a timely manner. Staff was nice and even though it was cold and snow on the ground the view was nice. We will come...back to this quaint restaurantMore

Sitting outside makes for a beautiful evening. Even on a warm evening there is a breeze from the lake. No, it's not the ocean but its as close as it comes. Food was great! Had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. I highly...recommend this place. It makes for a nice getaway for those of us in Springfield.More

We have been very hesitant about dining in a restaurant since we are both high risk. However, the weather was perfect and it felt like a good time to revisit our favorite restaurant in Decatur...sitting outside of course. We made reservations and our table was...waiting for us as we arrived. It was an outside table facing the water. The receptionist and the servers were all wearing face masks, making us feel very comfortable. As always, the service was very attentive and we got our beverages and shrimp cocktail very quickly. The drinks were perfect as always; however, the shrimp cocktail wasn't exactly as we remember it, but it was still very tasty. Mrs. M had the salmon and veggies for dinner....very good! I had the grouper special over garlic mashed potatoes, a vegetable medley, all with an almond pesto. It was fantastic, easily one of the best meals I've had here..and I've had a lot of great meals at the Beach House! The service was perfect. The food was excellent. The weather and view were awesome! Thank you Beach House for giving us such a wonderful experience on our first Covid-19 Date Night! We will most certainly be back!More

We had meet friends from Springfield at the Beach House several years ago. Their excellent food and service have not changed one iota. The four of us enjoyed the best Sea Bass meals we have ever had. The fish portion was huge and cook to...absolute perfection. The house wine was outstanding. Restrooms were immaculate. We had a picture perfect evening at this beautiful restaurant as we watched the sunset over lake Decatur. We highly recommend the Beach House.More
