Seriously one of my favorite places to go eat lunch or breakfast on a Sunday! If you're looking for reasonable prices, delicious coffee/ sandwiches and pastries.. this is the place for you! If you're a first timer I highly recommend the following: the Avena de Coco (coconut oatmeal), cafe con leche (a lightly sweetened coffee with steamed milk), Quesitos (keh-see-toes)... More

If you can get past the surly counter lady, you will enjoy great Puerto Rican coffee and pastries. The atmosphere is a throwback to the Puerto Rico of my childhood (40 years ago!).

This bakery built more than 100 years ago is so neat! Authentic Puerto Rican pastries and healthy food. Good coffee, I hear, I don't like coffee. Always pleasant and in warm weather, nice outside area to sit, watch and talk.

I was more than pleasantly surprised when my nephew and I walked into Café Colao early one morning for breakfast. My nephew had a breakfast sandwich, while I had the scrumptious oatmeal-made with coconut milk-a trademark of the owners (who also own Nellies Restaurant about 3 blocks east. The coffee was excellent as evidenced by the Tribune review hanging on... More
