While recently in Chicago we were walking up Michigan Ave after an architectural tour looking for a good restaurant. Avoiding the chains we eventually stumbled on The Gage. Went in to a warm welcome, a cold IPA and some great food. Halfway through the meal my wife decided that she had been here several years ago with friends. Service was... More

We ordered the fried pickles that had been battered with a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer batter. Absolutely delicious!!! The scotch egg was cooked to perfection with a house made sausage, over few greens and grainy mustard; amazingly delicious. We, also, ordered soup of the day, sandwiches, also. Everything was delicious! Service was on point and very friendly.

After meeting friends for brunch, we were very happy with the bloody mary's, Gage burgers; Buffalo chicken sandwich, and the lobster roll, Service was relatively fast and cordial. A hopping place on a Sunday after 1 pm. An advantage: within walking distance of a lot of should see places if you're visiting the Windy City.

Knowing this place is across from the park, we made reservations ahead of time. It was worth it as we waited less than 3 minutes. Yes, the menu for lunch is small, but the food was very good. I had the soup/sandwich combo; chicken and orzo with half a grilled veggie sandwich. Don't be fooled thinking you are going to... More

Atmosphere is very nice. Cool location right on Michigan Ave. Server was very friendly but service was slow. My husband ordered steak and eggs. The steak was a tenderloin but was a bit overcooked and not so tender. I'm sure the prices are high because of the location but not necessarily the quality of the food. Probably wouldn't go back.

The Gage is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Today's "Irish Breakfast" was wonderful - house made sausages, egg fried perfectly. Wanted more grilled tomato, but loved what I received. Yum.

We had lunch here twice while viewing the art at the Art Institute. Both times were excellent. The first time we split a burger and caesar salad. They were great. The second day I ordered their soup--curried carrot soup with goat cheese and my husband ordered fish and chips, again excellent. Our servers were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere... More

I only had 1 day to do Chicago. Met a nice local couple at the Buckingham Fountain who recommended the Gage Restaurant for dinner. Great Moscow Mules, and a wonderful dinner at the bar!

The concierge recommended this place for a light lunch as it was across from Millenium Park and had outdoor seating. We couldn't snag a table outside but we were rewarded with our server Jennifer who was attentive, lovely and helpful. My iPhone was near dead and I had brought a charger. She fixed me up and then hovered over us... More

It's 8.10 p.m. (reservation was at 7 p.m.) we're back at the hotel already having just spent $130 on a meal for two where all I had was an entree, We normally spend at least 2 hours enjoying a nice dinner, now we just want to sleep and forget this experience. I made the reservation through Tripadvisor requesting a window... More
