We stopped in for lunch after a morning at the art institute. Long wait for a table, since we did not have a reservation, so we ate at the bar. This was a good choice, as the bartender was great at recommending new beers for us to try. For food, I had the burger and my husband had the fish... More

Great place Sunday Brunch. Nice selection of a little more unusual foods. Good drinks, attentive service. Just a little louder than expected but a highly recommended place. We'll come back for dinner sometime.

Pleasantly surprised. Thought this was a tourist trap restaurant, but was wrong. Great food, good wine, vibrant bar scene. We got worried that it was very noisy restaurant when we first walked in, but the hostess took us in the back to a very pleasant separate room. Great dining experience.

Very cool atmosphere if you like old and charming. Great service. Menu was well rounded. Had the Ahi Tuna special that day, waitress said it was fresh caught Hawaii Albacore, but I think she meant Ahi. Cooked to perfection. My party enjoyed the Venison Burger, which is a popular favorite. Jambalaya and Mussels were also enjoyed. Reservations recommended. Walking distance... More

The restaurant was celebrating Valentine day with a special menu but you could order any combination of dishes you'd like from the regular or the special menu. The food was delicious, servings rich and wine very nice. The staff attentive and knowledgeable, filling up the water glasses promptly and changing our plates. Our recommendations !

For years I've been trying to come to the Gage and finally I'm here. I was not disappointed, not one bit. First, I like the crowd; mostly were business personnel there for their lunch break, couples, and a few college students. We came for restaurant week and ordered each option on the menu. The short rib croquettes were delicious and... More

We were trying to have Sunday brunch at Wildberry, but the wait was 90+ minutes, so we decided to try The Gage. There, we could make a reservation and it was quiet too! Brunch menu selection isn't huge, but everything is delicious. We started with fried pickles - a must, and then I had the apple french toast, which is... More

Dinner here is a busy affair; we visited on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. The mood of the restaurant feels like a film set. We ordered drinks because the hostess told us that our reserved table would take some time to be available. Once we ordered drinks from the bar waitress and got comfortable, the hostess told... We were in Chicago to see Hamilton. A friend recommended The Gage, because the atmosphere, food, service, and location are fantastic. Thank you Cindy, our experience was just as you described! Thank goodness I made reservations, because the place was packed.

While at a conference a few blocks away this amazing restaurant offered a wonderful distraction from the work involved in attendance. Service was good, food was good and portion size was great. Try the habanero Marg and don't forget to rim it!
