This was my return visit to Kanela (we are from out of state) and I can't wait to return. Our daughter lives in Wicker Park and it is always a treat to eat here. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful...in fact, we were...running late in getting to the airport and asked the hostess if we would be able to get our check when we were served, and the waiter brought it with our delicious food and had only the nicest attitude to go with our delicious breakfasts! the atmosphere is warm and inviting and they make you feel like a local-what can be better? My husband had the egg scramble, I had the chorizo and eggs and my daughter ordered the avocado toast and all were FABULOUS, as was my husband's fresh sqeezed OJ! I can't wait to return! The menu is so mouth watering that it is so hard to decide on an entrée!More
I ordered the chorizo and eggs. The meat was cold, they forgot the toast, the eggs were suppose to be over easy and the yolk was cook solid. The side salad had wilted lettuce. Speck of cheese and salsa. The Bloody Mary has half the...garnishes it advertised. I hope I don’t get sick.More
a wonderful spot for a very tasty breakfast. We went on a Saturday morning at 10:45 and the wait wasn’t even 30 minutes. It had a buzzing atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu has a lot to offer, the pork Benedict...and Kanela French toast were very tasty. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning to try out more of their dishes!More
We had heard this was a good rated place and that was an understatement from the mimosas, to the homemade cinnamon roll, everything was delicious I had the breakfast burrito and I don’t know that there will be another like it. TO DIE FOR. my...friend didn’t even like chorizo and kanela made her a believer. Was not a really big fan of the hash browns but probably is because I had just consumed the best burrito ever.More
