We found this restaurant searching social media while visiting Chicago - and glad that we did! Our Saturday brunch was delicious! Big hits were: 1. Kale and Brussel Sprout salad entree - great flavor and ingredients! Optional chicken on the salad was moist and tasty. 2. Grain salad was adored by our gluten-free vegan eater. It was wonderful! 3. Benedict... More

Trip Advisor can't seem to get it right (despite corrections!). The former Table 52 is now "Blue Door - Kitchen and Garden." I had brunch (served Saturday and Sunday) with a friend there on Sunday October 16th. The are located a short 2 blocks from the Clark/Division red line stop. We arrived when it opened at 10 am. There are... More

This place has been renamed Blue Door Kitchen and Garden right in the heart of Chicago gold cost area. Nice atmosphere half way between southern comfort and trendy city. The cuisine is worthy of its reputation. Fresh and largely carb and gluten free, loads of veggies that are prepared with taste and innovation. You wouldn't know you are eating kale... More

I went a couple times the first year it was open, and "wow" was it great. Art Smith as Chef-owner was a real hit. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but on this trip I was disappointed and a little embarrassed in front of my out of town business guests. Either it was an off night or they... More

Went here over 5 years ago and it was great. A real buzz, and vibrant atmosphere with great southern food. This time was awful. It felt like the land that time forgot, very old feel without the buzz and dull. The chicken was great, I have to acknowledge that, but the jambalaya was really unfortunate, The fish dry and overcooked.... More

After nearly a decade Table fifty-two will close on December 31, 2015. The chef use to be a cook for Oprah Winfrey. In 2016 the space will re-open as Blue Door Kitchen and Garden.

In Chicago for the holidays and went to Table 52 for Sunday Brunch. All entrees were delicious. Fried chicken and shrimp and grits were great. Biscuits and Mac & cheese as sides are a must try. Make a reservation in advance for Bunch. Southern cooking done right!!

I went for Sunday brunch and had a delightful experience. We tried the deviled eggs, which I don't normally like because of too much mustard/mayo. Here, they are beautiful and delicious. The fried chicken is amazing--perfect outer and juicy inner. The catfish was also delicious and a generous portion. My favorite dish was the Mac-n-Cheese, although it was so rich... More

Went for a family brunch and were disappointed in both the food and the service. Chicken was missing most of its breading and everything was overcooked. The bacon was like cardboard. The service wasn't any better. Slow service, no drink refills and the birthday dessert didn't come until some of us had gone. We even had to go find someone... More

Went for Sunday brunch. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Jerrod our server was quite engaging. I would definitely go back.

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
