I stopped here when I was in town on business. This is a big, busy place but it didn't feel that way. Menu is great. Portions large so beware of over-ordering. Service was very good. Steaks were not cheap but worth it. Good drink/wine menu....More
Very good food with excellent service. From the moment you walk in, you are treated to great service. Our waiter, John, was very knowledgeable about the food. His “team” of servers were courteous and efficient. The crab Caesar salad was delicious. Next time I’ll ask...More
The Sunday brunch is always a treat for our family. The selection is exquisite and well prepared. Perfectly cooked tender and juicy prime rib, mountains of crab legs, jumbo four bite shrimp, and briny fresh oysters on the half shell are my favorites. There are...More

I enjoyed visiting Prime & Provisions in late October. Great for business meetings and upscale atmosphere. The drinks and food, especially the huge steak for two, was excellent, although quite pricey. Really enjoyed the cigar bar and sheltered seating outside.

Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

If they are classy shorts like khaki (ironed) with a nice dress shirt / polo - you should be alright. Listen, we live in a day and age where casual is beginning to be looked upon as smart casual, I fly business class all the time and you do what is comfortable but just not only come off classy but 'act' classy.
You should be fine, enjoy your trip there.
In the end, as long as you are a good customer and pay your bill and act normal/give good tip - NO ONE WILL CARE
