A very nice variety of menu options. Price was reasonable, around $32 for dinner for two people. This is a nice place to explore a variety of dishes and never get tired of the food. Service was good, no issues, just a nice overall experience.
Brought a few friends here for dinner tonight & we all Loved the Food! We faced bad traffic because of road construction but glad we came.
Service was terribly slow & not responsive, but for this kind of food & at these prices, we didn't...mind too much.
Banh Xeo - excellent Vietm crepes! One of my Fav*
Spring Rolls - shrimp filled, decent
Bun w/Shrimp & Lemongrass Pork - very good
Tom Yum Seafood Noodle - Delish, so full flavored, one of my Fav*
Singapore Noodle - decent, nothing spectacular
Wanted to try some authentic desserts but only one kind was available & it didn't seem appealing being fruit out of cans (jackfruit, lychee...).
The Tea was kind of weak.More
Located on Devon Ave., between Central Ave. & the Metra tracks, because of some road construction on Devon Ave. at Lehigh Ave. there is no street parking in front, but there is parking behind the restaurant, with a rear entrance. The interior of King Pho...was decorated well. King Pho was busy, even though it was a bit late for dinner. We chose the King appetizer platter which came with four crab Rangoon, two large spring rolls that were cut in half to a perfect size, three crispy egg rolls and 5 crispy coconut balls. For an entree we went with (#43) Singapore noodles. We also ordered (#83) the beef mushroom entree. The portions were very large, and there was more than enough to take home, For myself, I ordered (#25) bank mi BBQ pork. However, I thought that the amount of meat on the sandwich was really light and I would have liked a bit more BBQ sauce. I also thought that the crab Rangoon on the appetizer platter was also really light on the crab stuffing, with a huge shell. I still think that the service could be markedly improved, since it seems as though the staff doesn't want to make eye contact, unless they have to. Improve that and King Pho could be a really nice experience.More
We left the nearby library and came to King Pho for lunch. We ordered spicy chicken basil and the shrimp & pork spring roll appetizer, as well as beef and mushroom entree. Everything tasted very good. The service was efficient. The lunch prices are reasonable.
