Late Friday evening meal after arriving in Chicago. It was next to or kind of in our hotel, The James, which is wonderful. Frankly, both my husband and I have had much better steaks in many other restaurants in Chicago and elsewhere. While the in house dry aged beef from 28 to 70+ days is touted, we both found the... This restaurant had great steaks and side dishes. The aged beef was outstanding. Very go wine list and a nice selection of beers. Nice quiet restaurant in a great location. You will not be disappointed. Service was excellent.

I had planned a meal at David Burkes Primehouse as a surprise for my girlfriend in our first night in Chicago (which was the same as the Cubs World Championship parade - all coincidence). The overall environment wasn't as refined as I had anticipated, but the food was very good. The seafood platter was amazing. I don't mind expensive and... More

Specializing in aged steaks, that is definitely what everyone ordered. We split some sides and some wine between 5 of 6 of us...it was expensive but it was good quality. The steaks had great flavor. We asked for a tour of the meat cellar where they aged the steaks and they took us down there too. Pretty cool

Some awesome food here. I wouldnt pass it up. The place is a bit dated as compared to all of the other new steakhouses in the city, however we keep coming back beacause the food is that good. The aged steaks are crazy good. The service is always perfect and friendly. Would highly recommend David Burke's. I have eaten all... More

So David burke's came highly recommended by several people so I was really excited to check it out. But I have to say I was a little disappointed. First off though, I did love the location and atmosphere. There isn't a dress code and it was pretty laid back. We ordered a wedge salad which was pretty good (3.5/5). They... More

We visited this location on a cold Sunday evening after reading the reviews on the burger available at the bar. This is not on the menu in the dining room but they will serve it there. The burger, made from aged beef, is delicious. My husband had the regular fries and I had the peppered, which were awesome. It was... More

Go Cubs! But thank goodness my daughter made this reservation long before the World Series. Naturally our steaks were divine but who knew David Burke made such great ice cream?

We were here on Thanksgiving, so it was a limited menu. The atmosphere was very nice, and service excellent. The prix fixe menu was creative. Our picky teenagers enjoyed both the pumpkin soup and frisee salad. I ordered a 45 day dry aged ribeye medium-rare. It was more toward the rare side (even when considering steakhouse cooking temperatures). I don't... More

My wife and I ate at Primehouse on a cold Saturday night in December. We had planned this trip to see our teams play for months. I'm a lifelong Bears fan and she is a share owning Packer fan. When the opportunity came up to see our teams play each other we planned the trip with gusto. Great boutique hotel,... More

Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate destination for special gatherings, the Private Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to the steakhouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement the progressive fare. #1 Steakhouse in Chicago by Chicago magazine, Best Burger in the U.S. by Food & Wine, Best Steakhouses in the U.S. by USA Today.
