Great Food and Service

My daughter and I had "The Dinner Party" and were very pleased with the selection and quality of our meal. Absolutely delicious and our waiter, Earl, was amazing!

We were there on Friday night around 5:30. Nearby restaurants were getting full while Via Stato was barely attracting customers. The menu is condensed and you will find the typical American fare that almost feels like it was created in a laboratory. Gnocchi, Cavatelli, Penne etc are some of the pasta offerings. The beef items though have nothing to do... More

This is just a solid restaurant, have been here a dozen or more times (work events, family birthdays, date nights, etc.). Food is always fantastic and seasonal, service good, and I just always leave feeling happy and full. Pastas are reliably good, and any of the chef's specials are always a good choice. Great value for your $ too!

The food was very tasty and the wine was tasty too. We had a small room for 20 ppl, which was ok - not much room to move around. The staff was very attentive and accomodating.

I had grilled octopus and a salad. I wish I had more time. I would have loved to try other items. The food was way better than I expected. I'd definitely go back to try their other dishes and pasta.

We were staying in the Embassy Suites Hotel next door and popped into Osterio Via Stato for lunch--expecting a basic run of the mill meal. Wow! Were we ever surprised. Terrific service and great food. We had the basil tomato soup with cream and a chicken sandwich with pesto, tomato & arugula on French bread. We will make it a... More

I would never put Osteria Via Stato among the best restaurants I've been to in Chicago, specially because the city is so full of great options. But Osteria Via Stato is one of those places you can go when you just want a cozy place, friendly staff, away from the craziness and sometimes tiring scene of the "cool restaurants". I... More

My son and his family and I stayed at the Embassy Suites while we were sightseeing in downtown Chicago. We checked in after a busy day at Navy Pier and saw the Osteria Via Stato restaurant within the confines of the hotel and decided a pizza would be good for dinner since we had my grandsons with us. We ordered... More
