The Polo Cafe is special - a unique neighborhood cafe that reflects the character of Bridgeport and serves great food! From the days of constructing the I&M canal in the 1840's, the Irish have settled in Bridgeport, The mural of the Daley family pays tribute to the success of the Irish heritage. The Polo Cafe radiates character and meals such... More

My daughter is a singer and she wanted to perform at an intimate venue to a midsize crowd of friends and family.. The venue held about 90 people depending on the seating style. They were very accommodating to the set up. The menu was fabulous. Not one person had a complaint and there was plenty of food. The décor was... More

Bridgeport isn't widely known as a destination for restaurant lovers. So you probably haven't heard of the Polo Cafe. But you should. Located at 3322 South Morgan Street on Chicago's South Side, it has come a long way since it opened as a nuts and candy store in 1985. Today, the complex includes a restaurant, bed-and-breakfast and banquet hall. It... More

Aside from the fantastic food ( French toast !!), the family atmosphere made for the best neighborhood breakfast I have had. The optional sing along with organ player is too cool. Add the owner and grandson leading us in hymns and Take Me Out to the Ballgame and you will think you are in the middle of a movie shoot.

excellent food, lovely and clean venue, and excellent service. Soup was beyond compare. Some of us also ate fish and chips, turkey club, etc. The mashed potatoes are divine and so was homemade dessert (cookies and pie). per Arnold: "we'll be back!"

Frequented David's place often when I lived in Bridgeport. Moved 4 years ago. Went to buffet dinner for Valentine's Day. Great space. Lots of room. Food was better than I remembered. Pork roast better than the A list steak houses near O'Hare. Remarkable sides, salmon, etc. Had no room for the roast beef which my wife said was better than... More

We went there for the Gospel Brunch. Now, I'm sure there are lots of definitions for "Gospel Brunch", but we got caught by surprise. Polo's is not the high-octane, praise-the-lord kind of gospel I have come to associate with brunch. The music was provided by an older gentleman playing hymns on an organ who occasionally invited the the audience to... More

I've attended a catered breakfast here twice and had excellent food both times. The French toast was especially tasty! The owner is very personable and enjoys telling about the history of the neighborhood and building. If your event needs a venue to hold a meeting and meal in the Chicago area, I recommend this caterer.
