I was attracted by the decor from walking along magnificent mile at dusk. I had never been to a GLC so I was pretty impressed with the rotunda inspired by Klimt's Kiss to the whole World and the tree of life patterns. Faux Art Nouveau furnishings aside, the food is decent, had the pot pie and quesadilla, good, not great.... More

The food was very good. The atmosphere was a lot like Cheesecake Factory. Not overly expensive for the portions. My 7 year old could not get enough of the spaghetti with Alfredo sauce. I enjoyed the southwest chicken salad. It was huge! You certainly won't go away hungry.

Love going to Grand Lux Cafe in every city I can find it. So many fantastic large choices. It is a slightly higher Cheesecake Factory owned chain.

My brother took me and my SO here for dinner after a long day touring the city of Chicago. I'm usually pretty skeptical and often underwhelmed with American-Style eateries, but I wasn't disappointed this time. The decor was incredible; the art deco inspired interior and the bustle of the crowds had me excited about what they had to offer. The... More

Always great food and great atmosphere. Located right on Michigan Ave. Expect a wait but well worth it. Desserts are excellent. Portions are large for the price.

I've been to Grand Luke many times and have never been disappointed. The food, service and staff are great. And you get your money's worth. This is a great spot for groups, couples and even if you want to go alone. Love It.

We enjoyed catching up with friends with each having a different entree. Everything was very good and the service was pleasant and efficient. However, we were too close to the kitchen entrance to be able to hear each other easily.

I went with some friends prior to a concert, and this was a fabulous dining experience! The menu is huge and extremely varied, and the servers are friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world!

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
