Not from Chicago but Sushi lover, I try a few Sushi restaurants each time I'm in town. Second time in Bob San and certainly not the last! Quality, freshness, efficient and friendly service and all that for a more than reasonable price. From classics to more "open" version of traditional Japanese sushis, each type of fish is tasty and the... More

I did not eat here so I can not review that. We jut finished eating dinner elsewhere and passed this place and it looked like to much fun to pass up. We walked in and got a drink and before you know it we were signing karaoke until 2am. Great place with a laid back feel so even if you... More

I have been coming here for a few years now. We always sit at the sushi bar and talk to Bob. He does a great job recommending items. If you come here do not be boring and just get the rolls. I recommend trying the Chef Specials, pan flatten scallops, and the oyster shooters. So yummy! Getting hungry just thinking... More

I really want to give this place one star, but the problem I had was not entirely their issue it was partly mine. This resturant was BYOB for 13 years, since it opened in 2000 I believe. When i showed up with my bottle of wine they told me I couldn't open it because they were no longer BYOB and... More

This is for the sushi restaurant. I like sushi and thought this was only okay. The tea was very good but I found the sweet potato roll and cucumber avocado rolls underwhelming. Service was only okay once we got one order. Water refills were good but if we wanted more tea or drinks, we had to wait or yell to... More

The last couple times we visited we were disappointed by the wait staff and food. We have had some great nights here enjoying the food and drinks. The last couple times the sushi was not up to par and the wait staff was lacking. We would sit without water or drinks for very long periods and the food would be... More

How often do you see the owner chef with knife in hand, preparing dishes alongside the staff. Not often enough - whether it's sushi or anything else. I for one am tired of the celebrity chefs full of hype and vapor. I want a great chef preparing dishes he/she is proud of. That's Bob at Bob San. If you like... More

I have eaten sushi in many different restaurants. It was not worthy eating in this place. I liked the neighborhood. Service average, food average, pricy check $45 per person.

Not a bad little joint. The prices are right and the service is good. But the menu and sushi is only average...which isn't to say it's bad, just not anything to write home about. The BYOB thing is cool, but a $12 corking fee is pretty crazy.
