When I lived down the street I would go here weekly for their coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Yes, it is made with American cheese but it is delicious. They service Illy coffee and it as cheap - just over $2 for 20 oz. they also sell an interesting assortment of Italian groceries. Great local stop for wine, cheese, etc.

This really is a fast food place but a little more upmarket. The service is always really quick and they serve good coffee.

Located towards the Northern end of the Magnificent Mile, one level below the street, this Italian shop is a combination of a Deli, a restaurant and a coffee and dessert place. The coffees are good: espresso and all its derivatives, as well as brewed coffee. There is a selection of European pastries, including Tiramisu, Napoleon, Black Forest cake, Cream horn,... More

This was an unexpected surprise as we found ourselves in the neighborhood hot & hungry. We stepped inside somewhat hesitantly, but once inside knew we were on the right track. I had the Italiano sandwich and my daughter had the cheese ravioli. Both were very good. The bakery items looked scrumptious but we were too full to indulge.

If you are looking for a quick place for a sweet treat as in bakery goods and gelato or looking for a sandwich, this is quick and painless. They use fresh ingredients and have quite a variety. There's a good amount of seating inside and outside. Their gelato is very creamy and tasty. They also have coffee and hot drinks.

Went to this restaurant out of convenience to eat breakfast. I ended up eating a reheated sandwich. The coffee was good, the service was good, but not the type of place I would go back, unless it was out of convenience. Perhaps lunch or dinner is different.

Discovered this local gem while staying at a nearby hotel for a family wedding. All sorts of Italian (and other subs) basically to go. There is limited seating area, but on a beautiful spring day, outdoor tables and even the stone steps were much more appealing. Several preparers, take a number sequencing, easy to read menu boards, (even a separate... More

If you're staying near the Hancock Bldg. and looking for breakfast, lunch, good coffee, or to purchase a snack, then L'Appetito is the place for you. We had breakfast 3 days in a row during a recent stay and it was an awesome meal for a great price, plus no tipping! The breakfast sandwiches for $5.75 were more than filling... More

A few different food tours make a stop here. Take a few moments to see all they have have to offer. You are sure to find something you like. It's a level below the street, so watch for that. Sandwiches, desserts, lots of goodies.
